😂 We are banned from buying garden pools. They only bring terrible weather (for us anyway) so we bought a lovely solid wooden bench. It's 6ft perfect for our eating out doors. Only thing is IT'S NOT STOPPED RAINING SINCE WE BOUGHT IT A FEW DAYS AGO 😁 Fingers crossed it ain't a jink on fine weather in our garden 😱😁

My daughter took me to S-on-A for mother's day about 15 years ago. If it's allowed I recommend a guided walk - you get to see so much more of interest than you would have. PS I was spurred on to place an order with you after watching Kath do the post office trip - you wouldn't believe how excited I was to picture her putting my parcel in her pack and doing the trip for ME!! What an intro!.. Kath announces the end of lockdown while going down in a lock. Irony? Well the gates are mainly wood. Then you tell me that you have been Knowle where since February. But the best part of the video was when the cruising ended and the stars of the show made an appearance.

As an old trade beater from the 1960s I do find it very strange when people, not just you refer to driving a boat. One drives a road vehicle but one steers a boat be it a narrow boat or an ocean liner. Rant over nothing personal love your videos keep them coming they bring back many happy memories of my days working the cut nice for you to be able to move to pastures new, enjoy Stratford when you get there.

I noticed how relaxed and confident you both are at handling the boat and the locks. It’s striking the difference between now and your early adventures! I enjoyed watching Kath casually flip the line over the bollard with a turn to slow the boat and adjust its position. Such skill! I loved the reaction of the cats when they stepped off in a new location! Where are we?

Hi Ladies, You will love the Stratford, barrel roof cottages, split bridges where the horse's rope passed through, great countryside. We moored at Wooton Wawen , by the boatyard then walked into the village to St. Peters church. Well worth a visit if it's open. Little general store in then village too. Stratford itself is fantastic. Hobson's Patisserie on Henley street. Oh yes!!

Nice to see you cruising again girls. I’ve had slips get smaller while I was backing in, so I know for a fact it happens. Just an update on our shaft problem, we ran the boat for an hour the other day, and couldn’t really find anything seriously amiss. Next time our diver is here, we’ll have him try to wobble the props to assess the cutless bearings. Hopefully, everything will just work until fall, when we plan to pull for a fresh coat of bottom paint.

Enjoy the Stratford Canal, it's a beautiful canal, nice easy narrow locks, I lot easier than when Dave Hutchins, with his army of volunteers, group of prisoners, plus the army (sometimes), restored them using telegraph poles as balance beams etc. Man they were hard work!! Happy days, I worked for Dave on the Upper Avon, a truly amazing guy! I even remember the basin at Stratford when it was an ornamental pond!! Have a great time you deserve it now you're free!👍😊

Hi there! I live near The Drawbridge Inn at Majors Green on the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal and I do regular walks either north from here to Kings Norton to join the Worcester and Birmingham Canal or south to Hockley Heath and Lapworth. Kingswood Junction is one of my other favourite regular evening canal walks if I fancy driving out to somewhere after being at work, the others being Alvechurch Marina on the Worcester and Birmingham or Hopwood North of there or Tardebigge just south. On the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal by The Navigation Inn Wootton Wawen there is Yew Tree Farm Shopping Village just around the corner that has some nice shops and The Cowshed Coffee Shop is well worth a visit and may be doing takeaways. Their ice creams are so yummy! At Stratford-upon-Avon their is the fantastic Butterfly Farm which I guess will still be closed sadly but there are nice walks along the River Avon from Bancroft Gardens and the Tramway Bridge alongside the recreation ground down to the weir. There are some lovely side streets and independent shops to seek out and for a really nice chip shop supper I recommend The Kingfisher on Ely Street and taking them down to Bancroft Gardens to have them whilst watching the evening waterside activities in the evening. Barnaby’s opposite Bancroft Gardens is quite nice as well but my favourite is The Kingfisher which is a little bit further into town on the road up from there but worth it. I know the stretch of canal from The Black Boy to Kingswood Junction but I must confess I have never visited Knowle Locks even though I have regularly visited the village. I can also recommend The Black Boy as I’ve been there a few times and I’ve also taken a group of the guys there from the day centre where I work in Moseley. They love it there and the staff are really lovely. Thank you for your lovely videos of which I have started watching ever since this lockdown began as they have been so joyful to watch and you are two of the nicest people on the waterways. I’m rediscovering my local area since I haven’t been able to travel far a wide as normal around the Midlands so your videos are one of my favourites to remind me what beautiful places I have on my doorstep not to far from my home and now I can drive or cycle a little bit further now I will soon go out to see them. I have to own up to some of the responsibility of the weather change. I bought a posh new eight seat garden dining suite. Hung fairy lights in the trees and yes, the next day the weather changed. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Hopefully there will be more summer to follow so you ladies can enjoy your new parasol and our family can come and have lunch and social distance at the other end of the table. Our 10 month granddaughter hardly knows us and we haven’t had a cuddle for ages. ☹️ That was the most laidback excitement by your pussy cats ever. 🤣🤣. Enjoy cruising again and stay safe.

Knowle certainly looks good with the new coat of paint. Lest time we were there was two years ago and it it looked a bit ratty. The section from Knowle to Kingswood seems to go on forever. On one occasion we almost went to Stratford, but the mooring fee and an approaching storm made us give it a re-think. On the way back up one of the pounds at Wilmcote was very low due to a leaky lock. We dragged bottom but made it across without having to add another lock full of water, but just barely. Really enjoyed this cruising video. We really miss visiting pubs too. On the Stratford Canal, you can visit Mary Arden's Farm, which is Shakespeare's birthday place and it's a working farm Tudor style. Depending on your timing, it may be open for you to visit and it s walking distance from the Stratford Canal. There is also the Stratford Butterfly Farm, which was closed when we cruised past , but could be worth a visit :) Since you are fellow cat owners, I wanted to let you know, if you decide to cruise on the river Avon, the only mooring spots are by the lock landings and sometimes they are even on a lock island, which is great for cats. Almost no dogs to be seen :)

Stratford is a nice wee town, apart from the RSC theres the Swan theatre and of course Shakespeare's house in the high street ( expensive for what it is ) theres an all year round Christmas shop which is worth a look in , but of course this all depends on the state of the lockdown restrictions . Enjoy Stratford and safe cruising .
