On Wednesday I travelled from Spain to Ireland and I'm ALWAYS overwhelmed with travel anxiety. I didn't even realise I was doing this, but I spent the day in part in meditation and in part cleaning. Both helped reduce my anxieties. Now I know to clean more when overwhelmed.

I have massive anxiety, and cleaning really helps my mood and excess energy/ adrenaline it works so well! I have found that in doing this I do not need medication that made me feel foggy and disconnected. Also there are a lot of fun cleaning tools that make the job easier. Put on a great podcast and go to work !
@purpleicewitch63497 ай бұрын
Just going to add that even the prospect of cleaning itself can be overwhelming, but a way to deal with that is to just break it down into parts or steps. Maybe you can't clean the whole kitchen, but you can do the dishes or just put a few boxes away. Maybe you can't clean your whole mess of a desk, but you can put a few pens back in the holder or file away / get rid of some papers that don't need to be sitting out. Then the next time you have the time/energy, do another small thing. Getting some of it done is better than none of it. It's important to then focus on the accomplishment that you did and not everything else you couldn't get to.

I have been decluttering for what seems like ages, but there is still more to do. My late husband and I were both squirrels so I've got both our stuff I've been working on. It takes me a while to get unattached to many things so that I can either toss or donate. And then, because of a recent flood in my basement, it became really clear to me that it am tightly attached to my house and being so will only continue an ongoing anxiety about where I will go and what should I do? So much thinking is preoccupying my mind. Painting is my way of destressing, but it can also be an escape, which I am aware. So I'm trying to create some balance with all the balls I am juggling. And with all this cluttering my head and physical space, meditation is nigh impossible!

Not one day later, after the garbage men came, I really needed something I had thrown away. Is this not always the way? I don’t have money, and I was heartbroken, because my projects make me feel happy and whole. There went the Perfect item for my designs. I had no idea I would need it. What to do in this situation but save up and buy it again :( I feel like kicking myself, but am happy the clutter is GONE. Peace to you, please keep helping us, you do more than you realize.
