I know Travis does not use a double bass, but if you look at 03:16, he has another pedal for his left foot to hit the bass while his right foot is stationary. Then he moves it back to the hi-hat and resumes the bass with his right foot. Never noticed this before and thought I would just share. I am curious if anyone else has ever noticed this, or if he has talked about this before. I would like to know the reason for this. There are other videos of this concert backstage as well, where the camera is zoomed in and you can see it better. It almost looks like there is a bass mallet just bobbing up and down, but when he uses it, it hits down on some kind of pad. Seems like it might control an electronic deeper more powerful bass for accents or something, or some kind of theatrical smoke release. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKOkdZiIraerhac I hope to hear from others with their take on this. Thanks!

I’m pretty sure it’s a trigger used to trigger 808’s, I’ve noticed it too and I heard a 808 and then I saw that pedal move after I heard it so I’m pretty sure it’s a 808 trigger
