Your notification just popped up and sat down to watch. Cumbrae brought back many lovely childhood memories of summer holidays spent there. How good was that you managed to capture that submarine and the military ship!! They must have been carrying out manoeuvres from Faslane not far from there?! Great photography as usual. So sorry those yobs threw that bread at your van 😢. As you always say go with your gut feeling about parkups especially when you are on the road alone although Wolfie would be a good protector ❤.

I remember you saying you used to go to Cumbrae as a child. You should go back sometime, it has such a lovely feel about it and everyone is so friendly. Yeah, you're right, trust your gut regarding park ups. You know we really enjoyed it before, and you said you used to live near there. Always some idiots who have to spoil things.
@patriciayassin29833 ай бұрын
@roaminginraymond that's right I moved about 10 years ago back to Glasgow and it always used to be a great place for nature and waterfront activities well known in the area. Really mean-spirited of them though as they seemed to know what they were doing😡. You did look and sound chillaxed on Cumbrae and eventually Largs 2nd time around 😉. If it hadn't been for Largs stressing you with how busy it was you wouldn't have found the wee Cumbrae gem so good can appear out of bad situations 🥰

Lochwinnoch (Castle Semple), being so close to Paisley and Glasgow gets a lot of day trippers. Quite often they'll throw their rubbish from their cars into the car parking area when they leave, regardless of the fact that there are litter bins everywhere. I find it highly unlikely that you were targeted the way you imply. More likely they threw their remaining bread out of their car on exit and it landed on your van. Yes, it's not a nice habit but you'll generally find it with the drivers/families of the entitled ilk. I've always found Castle Semple to be a lovely place to visit, the bird life is amazing, free park up, facilities, water sports (if you have the equipment) and lovely walks all around the Loch and in the village itself. It's one of the few remaining places where people say 'hello' to you as you pass them even though you don't know each other. I think you gave Lochwinnoch an unfair review but it is what it is.
@roaminginraymond3 ай бұрын
They definitely didn't do it by accident, as they pulled up outside the front of the van laughing. I didn't know what they were doing until I saw stuff landing on my bonnet. Believe me, it was no accident. I really like it there and I have stayed before with my husband with no issues, and I'd stay again, just not on my own. There was no intention of giving Lochwinnoch a bad name. I was just unfortunate, that's all. It is a beautiful place with lots to explore like the old church and the RSPB centre.
