Wellcome to van life . We need to keep smiling. I was absolutely terrified when I got to Portugal and found that I could not get any help from my insurance to get me to the garage. Lucky enough. I met people that were able to help me sort out getting to the garage and I had smashed window everything was going wrong similar things to you, but at the end of the day, we keep a smile on her face and keep trying to go on. Take care. 😊

@@The-Good-Life-Off-Grid there always seems to be nice people around who want to help. Which is lovely. I’m sorry you had dramas too but exactly as you say. Just keep smiling. Problems happen at home and in the van so may as well have the adventure

Definitely an adventure, great to see Bec visiting. New brakes (not just the window), no stopping you now, well maybe better than ever.

It was great having her over. Haha yes. Lots stopping me now! But I like having the option to stop or not.

Wow Helen !! All I can think is how lucky that you found that brake problem when you did !! Also, what you spend on Kenny will hopefully help with resale value! Otherwise keep smiling ( and crying ) the best is yet to come !!! Go gap year van life Helen !! X

@@lauragrace1226 oh you are absolutely right about finding when I did. Things could have been very different. In so many ways. It’s actually a good outcome.

That's so scary when you clip mirrors! Happened to us in Italy but thankfully it didn"t do any damage. You've certainly had a baptism by fire!
@helenwheels4444Ай бұрын
@@nigelandsueadventures it certainly got my attention. The design of my mirrors meant it flipped in. The smashing of the window was a shock. Great news is that the windows are safety glass so no one was injured.

Oh my god! Hopefully that's all of your bad luck out of the way and you get a bucket load of good luck now! It was lovely meeting you the other day ❤

@@stephienomad hey!!! I’m so pleased you reached out. It was lovely meeting you. I realised I didn’t follow you on any platform and would love to keep up with what you are doing. Where can I find you?

Holy Cow Helen, bad times upon bad times, but hope it’s all (nearly ..starling not withstanding) fixed now, and more safe vanning ahead. Particularly enjoyed the creative use of duct tape on the wing mirror, …genius. My dear ol dad always said if it cant be fixed with Duct tape, zippy ties or fencing wire, then its f***ed. Remember , as the saying goes, “silence is golden, but duct tape is silver and muffles the sound pretty well”.
@helenwheels4444Ай бұрын
@@GraemeCorbett what wasn’t filmed was that I went nuts with the duct tape on the mirror and then completely ran out when it came to the ikea bag. Which was hilarious in a manic, coming off the adrenaline kinds of way, but a bit stupid!

Lessons learned that we wouldn’t have if not for the mirror/window incident: I’m a screamer😂 Lane changes as a team… Gaffa/race tape is precious Helen is McGuiver in disguise IKEA bags are waterproof and able to withstand 90km wind gusts Kenny the camper has a soul… ❤

And perhaps consider assessing the whole job before going completely nuts with the gaffa tape. That was funny.

That must of been a very narrow road as the other vehicle was miles from the white lines in middle of the road
@helenwheels444429 күн бұрын
@@mrstevepace not as narrow as they got later on in Isle of Skye. There will be a video on that later. I hope you are enjoying the videos.
