You're a genius mate. I take it you are a much sought after musician .

These last bunch of lessons you have done have been simply spectacular! All your stuff is great but these are like unlocking the secrets of some of the greatest bands and performers. You have always been unselfish with your posts and for many years you have been a real friend to musicians everywhere. Thank you so much. When people say “you’re the best on KZbin”, in my mind it’s you they are talking about.

Buddy Martin, agree..... he's the best. Plays 'em correctly and explains simply.

You just saved my ass for a HS reunion gig I'm doing this Labor Day weekend! I broke my wrist a few years ago, and playing in standard tuning was killing me. This solved it! Thanks so much for posting James! I owe you one.

Sounds right on to me. That sounds better than in standard.

Funny, I recall having this discussion with you about trying this song with open G on your old privettricker channel a few years ago when you did the song then. Thanks for working it out.

You sound good. The open G cords have a nice tone to them when you just let them ring open on the Les Paul. Good job! Again, thank you very much for sharing. ✌️

Awesome lesson. Many thanks.

yes you nailed it the open G Tuning gives the riff that sort of doubling effect live , they probably used a detune or chorus effect in studio I suspect.

Check this out mate -- on the double stop chromatic pull off solo - try this: B string1st finger descends chromatically from F to D, while 2nd finger (in time descends with it) on G string from D to B (3rd interval apart). The F to D is a pull off pedaling the open G string. Could do also this triplet tapping the B string but I am sure this was done on 2 strings holding the 1st finger tones thru the descent against the pedal pull off.

Had essentially the same eureka moment two years ago while messing around in open G and some early VH. Another Foreigner song and I can't remember which one uses similar "Keef" suspension.

Hey James. Just watched your video about the ending of privettricker. Seems you have successfully moved on from there. Good for you. Being as old as I am and a veteran I have no tolerance for the dopes on youtube that don't "get it". Most of the cover songs I do I learned back when they first came out off the vinyl recordings. Yah, I am that old. LOL Now I'm going back over everything to learn how to play them as they were originally recorded. Or as close as I can as a solo performer. Have learned more than a few things from your videos. So wanted to say thanks for your outstanding efforts.......keep rockin' buddy.

S. I don’t pay much attention to picks, but I usually use mediums. I buy big bags of them from a place in China - with pictures of Led Zeppelin on them.
