Thanks for the review but I hope you can give more info. I need a monitor just to replace the onboard LCD on my Panasonic ag-ux180 which is useless in sunlight. I don't need LUTs or waveforms etc. I just need to see on the screen and be able to do quick focus. Any monitors that you can recommend?
@ScottDumas3 жыл бұрын
The LUT6 is a pretty bright monitor, letting you see out in sunlight. Anything over about 1500nit should be pretty good, and from there you'll just want to find something that's the size you want with an easy to use user interface that fits in your budget. Newer Feelworld monitors like this LUT6 are easy to use and a great value for the money. There are definitely better monitors for more money, but I don't think many people would be disappointed with something like this either. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the video. You mentioned that there is a 2 frame delay in the monitor. Is this common for any camera external monitor?
@ScottDumas4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching :) Yes, some small delay is pretty typical and often a side effect of the camera/HDMI more than the monitor itself. No problems worse than others with this monitor in my experience :)

How does it compare to the shinobi
@ScottDumas4 жыл бұрын
Never used the Shinobi in all honesty but I have the Ninja V, and from my experience they're both good in their own ways but have drastically different controls/user interfaces. Atomos has a good reputation but the Lut6S does have a good amount of assist features built in, a nice UI and good price for the hardware you're getting. Without even trying it though I'm sure the Shinobi is made better, physically speaking.

@ScottDumas3 жыл бұрын
I can't remember exactly which are pre-loaded off hand, usually more standard LOG LUTs are pre-loaded, if any. But you should be able to load your own depending on what you usually use, or even create your own custom LUT and load it in there to work better with your workflow.

Hi. Thanks for your cool Videos. Like it. BUT: ;) I finally bought the LUT6 because of your Tutorial.. Where you also mention, that the FPS would be no problem at all, because this could be set in the HDMI Output preferences of the Camera. @ScottDumas3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I’m sorry to hear that. I just researched it a bit and it seems that with the Z7 it’s not a monitor compatibility issue but the camera can’t use HDMI at all in high frame rates apparently. I found this: “HDMI output is not available while movies are being recorded at movie frame sizes of 1920 × 1080 120p, 1920 × 1080 100p, or 1920 × 1080 slow-motion or when the camera is connected to a computer running Camera Control Pro 2.” So unfortunately it seems that no other monitor would solve the problem either :(

Hi. Can you shoot 120fps with it?
@ScottDumas3 жыл бұрын
depending on the camera you should have the ability to output a lower resolution/frame rate over HDMI even while shooting 120fps so that it's compatible with monitors.
@ckjjclan4 жыл бұрын
Scott: LUT Out... I think the LUT output is on the SDI only, not over hdmi out. I bought one and the hdmi out was unaffected by the LUT on w/ LUT output on. Looked at the small manual and it suggested that the LUT looped out is available over the SDI.... did you find that to be the case?
@ScottDumas3 жыл бұрын
Good call, I think you may be right.
@willvazquez32183 жыл бұрын
I just bought it and the same problem with mine. No LUT output on HDMI. If the LUT output is only on SDI they don't specify this on how they advertise it. If this is the case this is ridiculous. Most cameras with SDI output have the ability to output a LUT. I wanted to use this with my Sony FX3 so when I shoot SLOG3 I can send out the LUT out to my transmitter and the client can see the image with a LUT on the bigger video village monitor. It also not as bright as they say. I have the LUT7 and it has 2200 nits compared to the 2600 that the LUT6S should have, and the LUT7 looks twice as bright.
