My bad So, my Aunt Mimi is the reason why I grew up on all things horror. One year when I was about 9 or 10 that whole side of the family when camping/RVing in Wisconsin Dells. We would always bring our favorite movies, VCR tapes to watch after dark. Mine was always Willow but ROTLD was brought as well. Well 2 days before we were leaving that movie was in rotation to be watched. The part where it said "based on a true story." I asked Aunt Mimi about it after it was over. She said, it is absolutely real. There are chemicals out there that we know very little about. I was scared shitless! I believed her and I couldn't sleep a wink of sleep that night or the next. Years went by and when her father (papa) died I confronted her about what she told me. She busted out laughing and she said she was sorry. But it's something I'll always remember her by. It always makes me smile.

@@MikeMacabre That is an excellent story! Technically, Aunt Mimi didn't lie. And the movie that was based on was absolutely real. Your Aunt Mimi sounds like she was very careful about what she said. I admire that in people. I'm very careful not to lie-but that leads to some linguistic gymnastics. Sleight of word, you might say. I'll say this-when I was 11, my step-uncle and i (same age) begged my Stepmom to let us go see "Jaws". We begged! She said "Okay, but I don't want to hear any sh*t later." Done! Well, I had nightmares like a MF, but I never said anything, so, technically, I won. But you're more man than me to sleep out in a place called "Wisconsin Dells" (sounds like a stand-in for Camp Crystal Lake, tbh) for two nights AFTER seeing that movie! Shoot, I'm not sleeping outside at all. That's why the gods invented houses. Great story, dude! P.S. You never called her "Screaming Mimi" even once?

Not even once! Wisconsin Dells is quite touristy actually. I've been much farther north to some actual Camp Arawack stuff. Sleepaway Camp anyone??? Look up Noah's Ark Park. Their claim to fame.

@@MikeMacabre Gonna do that. See, I haven't been in the ocean since 1975. And in the woods? Never. Saw "Blair Witch" at the cinema. Never EVER in the woods. Call me a coward. I'm a safe, dry, no-sharkbit coward.

@@MikeMacabre Looked up Noah's Park. The TV show? Water park? I was hoping for a nice mass-murder story, but all I found was nonsense (marine material + human activity = Noah's Ark on Mt. Ararat. Neither of those things prove an Ark.) Never been to a water park, either. As far as touristy, I would think that would be the place to be right about now. I've had it with this humidity.
