It reminds me a little early PJ Harvey songs, even how Leslie looks like! Love both of them so much 🤍

the 2nd verse is WOW...her flow, her voice, the lyrics, the melody, the "keyboard-organ-piano- whatever-part" coupled with the crunchy guitar makes the 2nd verse so intense, it's thrilling...great emotion, thank you Feist 😙😙😙😙

Steven Le: "It's *like* she's doing ...". What do you not understand in that sentence? Similarity is not identity ... are you ok? " her very *own way* ". Get it? She is not actually saying it's punk.

@@stevenle3829 Feist was actually a punk singer in her younger years with a lot of bands and even opened for the Ramones, shelost her voice countless times screaming her lungs out. Hence her subtle almost whispered tone ever since. If you can't hear this obvious influence while listening to this, then you're no punk, nor do you share the values the movement fights for with your shitty attitude.

[Verse 1] Get what I want And still it's a mysterious thing that I want So when I get it I make sense of a mysterious thing 'Cause I've taken flight on such a serious wing I, and you are the same and Either fiction or dreaming [Pre-Chorus] We know enough to admit We know enough to admit We know enough to admit [Chorus] It's my pleasure And your pleasure It's my pleasure And your pleasure [Verse 2] Oh, an echo calls up the line An indication of time Our togetherness That is how we evolved We became our needs Ages up inside Escaping similar pain Dreaming safe and secure Generations in line Old and then the youth Come to meet or fade A chromosomal raid Built by what we got built for As much as what we avoid So the mystery lifts [Pre-Chorus] We know enough to admit We know enough to admit [Chorus] It's my pleasure And your pleasure It's my pleasure And your pleasure That's the same That's what we're here for! Pleasure, it's my pleasure It's my pleasure, it's my pleasure That's what we're here for! Pleasure, it's my pleasure It's my pleasure, it's my pleasure That's what we're here for! Pleasure Pleasure Pleasure Pleasure, oh [Outro] You know it's true Pleasure, pleasure Pleasure, pleasure Pleasure, pleasure Pleasure, pleasure

Feist has been innovative ever since I became aware of her. She makes music never more derivitive of any genre as her own ideas and vision. Like Niel Young, Joni Mitchell, Prince, Bowie, David Byrne, and many other true "musical" artists, she's iconoclast by sheer sonic and cerebral "self." Modes are milestones and she keeps moving on. As one of may good lines in the movie CODA asks a budding vocalist, in a grand nod to Dylan, "Do you have something to say?" ...the answer for her, by default, is "YES." One day, I hope movies showcase some of Feist's songs ala Amie Mann, Sia, and Cyndi Lauper- all eclectic folk musicians! Listening and watching Feist is a "pleasure." Love, Karl
