Your AK2000 videos are very helpful! I wonder if you can comment on an issue I'm seeing: Auto rotate mode, when I'm trying to set the end position, the gimbal fights with me and I'm literally wrestling against the motors while trying to haul the camera into the end position. And even after choosing a position, the gimbal can change the camera's position when I let go, so I end up with a mess of half-second-captured intermediate points! Is this how it's supposed to work?

Hi, great video! I recently bought a Sony RX10 IV & invested in the AK2000 too. Yes its a pain to balance as the lens extends slightly when switching on the camera so balancing needs to be sorted after the camera is on. I too had some serious vibration while filming & walking up some stairs, which, what you say about payload settings, seems to be the logical answer as the Sony is quite a heavy camera to start with (1095g) but well within their max payload recommendations. Will look into this next time I have it set up. Thanks! I've subscribed as I'd be interested what you discover as you use it over time.

I have a question about the gimbal. The manual camera positioning can't work just for the tilt axis. In any mode I try (hf, tf,af, lk) just the tilt axis remain in the position what i set with hand. When i try to set the pan and roll axis the gimbal jump back to the original position. The other interesting behavior of the gimbal is that when use in very extreme position the gimbal start to spinning and don't find the balance. And when i positioning it back to vertically the camera face to me or leaning in random bad heading. Meet this two problem meanwhile you use the Ak2000?

Hi everybody! Anybody who use this great gimbal with a lightweight camera (camcorder or photo camera) fight with the problem of the pan axis balance. The main reason why this axis can’t balance because the vertical arm can’t slide enough to it’s end position (there is marking on the arm with the 5 cm sign, but in the real life it’s going to 4.1 or 4.2 maximum). To unlock this deficiency you must unscrew the four philips screw, and unscrew the three hexagon socket screw. One is visible at the front of the arm, the another two is come up after you unscrew the four philips and remove the plastic cover. Take care of it’s rear end because it’s glued to the arm. When you unscrew the two rear hexagon screw now it’s removable the rear limiter what is prevent so far the arm sliding to the end of the marks (now my gimbal’s vertical arm sets to 5.5 cm what is much enough. The good pan axis balance for my Panasonic HDC-HS 100 camcorder with approx. 450 gramm weight is at the 5.0 cm mark.) After the remove of the rear limiter you take back the plastic cover, however now you can only screw the two philips at the front. That’s all.

Am I the only one having the centered issue?? I've had 3 A1000 gimbals in the past (currently still own one), and now I've added the AK2000. Straight away. I sent my first one back, then the replacement was the same. I bought the 3rd one from a different vendor, same issue. Now my AK2000 is worse than those! There's no way to adjust it. I've calibrated, messed with settings, everything I could think of. Firmware is up to date. I've had to resort to setting my camera aimed a bit to the right on the plate to compensate, which to me is unacceptable. Am I really the only one seeing this? Hey man good video. Are you able to change the settings on this gimbal? Can I change how smooth the pan and tilt movement is. If so? What setting do you use for cinematic movement?
@GraemeSimpsonPhotography5 жыл бұрын
Hi, You can change the sensitivity of the gimbal if you're wanting to use the wheel to move the camera. There are 3 settings based on what type of steadyness you want, there's default, smooth and motion. Default seems to work quite well, smooth is ok but you have to be silky smooth with it or it has a weird bounce effect on the panning move and Action makes the motors tight so there's very little give in the motion. Each of these are all cinematic, it's all dependent on what style you're trying to capture and you must remember that YOU have to move in the same style.

I was getting really bad static noise in the background while recording, probably caused by interference. I had to run many tests only to realize that this was occurring only when the camera was attached to the gimbal. My solution was to insert some paper strips in between the camera's tripod mount and gimbal sliding base to act as a tampon or absorb any static or energy interference produced by the gimbal, if that makes any sense. All in all, it worked, no static noise in the background any more.

ok, there's no button to fix this. You just need to turn it off (you can do it with power on but i don't think you should) and move the camera back to the correct position

Possibly use the app to fine tune the motors. The second thing (check the manual) but you might need to calibrate the gimbal. There's a way you have to lay it down for a few seconds

hi graeme already i bought ak2000 from amazon and it is on traveling from usa to ethiopia but now i am worried after i saw vibration issue on it.so what do you recommend me honestly. can i return it?
@GraemeSimpsonPhotography5 жыл бұрын
As long as the payload settings are correct, balanced properly and it's calibrated then you shouldn't have any vibration at all
@habtamumihret84865 жыл бұрын
@@GraemeSimpsonPhotographyPhotography what about the vibration when is tilted >20 degrees? and what about the smoothness compared to dji ronin sc?
@GraemeSimpsonPhotography5 жыл бұрын
Any vibration is down to payload and balance problems. most of the smoothness of any gimbal is down to how you operate it. Every gimbal has it's own positive and negative points so the ronin might be good but it isn't much better than the AK2000

Hi Graeme Thank you for your very clear and informative videos. With regard to the auto rotation is it possible to have the gimbal make a smooth pan or tilt that does not end with it whipping back to the starting point? I would like a few seconds delay at the end of the pan. I have tried fiddling with rotation settings but cannot come up with any that would make this happen. I notice that you can get a delay at the start. I could use that and reverse the video if it did not mean I would have birds flying backwards!
@GraemeSimpsonPhotography5 жыл бұрын
Hi Nigel. The only way I think you could get a delay at the end is to set multiple points on the rotation but it wouldn't ever stop on any of the points you set. The best you'd get is to do is make sure your end point is at the normal resting point of the gimbal. That would then eliminate the end whip.
@nigelscott29775 жыл бұрын
Graeme Simpson Photography setting the end point to be the natural resting point is a possibility however it might be difficult to get that exactly right as I would be doing it manually with the result there still might be noticeable judder. I will experiment. Thank you.

@@GraemeSimpsonPhotography It bounces the from the front of the lens like in your video in auto adapt. I just rebalanced it and it is working again to some degree, however whenever I hit certain angles it vibrates very loudly. I think the problem is my yaw axis, I cannot balance it no matter how much I change the gimbal. At the highest point, it still remains weighed down to the bottom. I'm not sure how to fix this.

With a heavy lens and perfectly balanced, no level works for me. Level 1 is okay, but eventually it rocks up and down. I think they need to fix the problem with a firmware update or something.
@nightcoder5k5 жыл бұрын
I figured out the vibration issue with my setup (A6000 + Sigma 16mm f/1.4). The little Y-adapter needs to be mounted on the front of the camera plate to support the lens. A slight dip from the front of the camera is all it needs to trigger the vibration. If you no longer have the adapter around, you could shim it with a folded napkin or a piece of foam. Wow! My setup is rock solid now. I was about to return it.

on 03:50 your camera flips around. I have the same problem when tilting the camera forward...when I stayed too long in a tilted position (5-10 seconds) it flips around like it did in your video. do you know how to fix that? thanks for helping
@GraemeSimpsonPhotography5 жыл бұрын
I'd put the gimbal in an awkward position and then moved too quickly which is why it flipped. As with all gimbal, movement needs to be smooth and steady
