I have fond memories of my family and I playing that game, but oddly for SNES, same graphics. I don't think it would hold up, but I remember getting some huge fish. My mom even loved that game. Good times, love the show and channel! You are kickass.

In my hometown there is a huge lake that's full of "Black crappies". The town is so proud of this fact that every 20 feet or so there is a pedestal displaying said abundance of the crappies (crappii? crappy?) population.

I picked up a secondhand Sega Bass Fishing for my Wii and it offers all the greatness this game does not. I think the wii controller is exactly what this game needed.

My favorite Genesis game is Haunting - You play a poltergeist (named Polterguy) and have to possess furniture to scare a family out of their home. I highly recommend you check it out. :)

I'm putting the RP in mmorpg, so I can't comment on lotro in terms of it's mechanics compared to others in the genre much, but for RPers, actors, and story tellers, it's a dream. The DX11 graphics updates are great yes, it already had an art style of realism and depth befitting Tolkien's creation, now it's better. The music system is excellent and many bands take advantage. There are concert nights, plays and some very elaborate events each week through the Shire and Breeland!

FWIW Crappie; pronounced like CROPie (like the cra sound in crawdad) And in my VERY limited fishing experience, crappie were caught with a "crap (crop) line", a line with a string of baited hooks that is strung and left in place, then retrieved later...think of it as the home version of Deadliest Catch.

You should check out the fishing in Breath of Fire III and IV. Probably the best fishing mini games I've played and very difficult to catch the elusive Sturgeon, king of fish!

CROP-pee, as it's pronounced, is a small fish that usually stays in brush, frequently fished from a pier that's had underbrush placed with a light which attracts them at night. Bass is better eating.
