i have pride in sushi rolling since i'am a sushi chef and this was so hard to watch but funny at same time... >.< practice makes perfect haha tip to u would be dont wet ur hands too much, only dampen ur hands and it'll be fine (a few rice will still stick but bare with it even though it is annoying at times)

If you use lay the rice covered nori on plastic wrap with the rice facing down, it makes it easier to roll and it won't stick to the cutting board. I don't know if anyone else has said that but just for future reference!

While I know Felicia will probably not see this, here are some tips for if you remake your roll. 1. Place a sheet of plastic wrap on the bamboo roller and spread at least half of the amount you used on the nori. Leave at least a one inch strip of nori on one end so it can stick to the other when you roll it. 2.Use less than what you think your going to need. The more you use the bigger the roll will be in the end. 3.Cut in half, then half again. That way all the pieces are about the same size

You can get sushi both ways. Typically if the rice is on the outside they roll it in seeds. The trick to the rice being on the outside of the roll is (felicia was correct) you put it on the bamboo mat. You cover the mat with saran wrap and then put the sushi on it (rice side down). Then put your ingredients on it and roll it.
@MxMagpie

Not always, it depends what kind of sushi you're making, the rice does go on the outside on california rolls for example.

No they do a ceviche kind of style, its cooked by lightly grilling and lemon juice the natural acid cooks it. So for the most part sushi is still raw, but edible where you won't get sick

Fun as always Felicia, thanks! Question for each person should be: "Name a type of room or location, something in that room (a person or item etc) and a way out of the room." Then when you are finished put them all together as the base for a qust plotline for an online comic. Select good ones for members of the G&S community to draw for you and then produce an internet community created comic.

"I don't see why you're trying to make something so trivial into a full blast argument." I kinda felt the same way about you, to be honest. The previous poster made a statement that sushi is supposed to have raw fish, and I was adding my own personal experience of sushi that had ingredients other than raw fish. Just because I'm trying to add further knowledge to the discussion doesn't mean I think I know everything.

Reading these comments is interesting... but the difference between Gimbap and Sushi is the way the rice is prepared... so he might actually be correct in saying she was making sushi because of the vinegar mixture of the rice where Gimbap is usually just a steamed rice or the use of sesame oil. Not to mention Sushi is the name for the vinegar mixture rice dish that is added with other things not just raw fish.

you're so ruthlessly selfsustained - gotta love it. So the question I'd like to ask mostly every artist, since it's such a evidently brilliant question: Is there a question that you've always wanted to be asked, but noone ever thought of asking? (chance to have your say for real). oh, btw sushi accomplishment hardly unlocked...

The nori on the outside is more traditional, but the Japanese started to put rice on the outside to Americanize it because Americans had a problem with eating seaweed so they kind of hid it under the rice. Fun fact for the day!

Doing MAKI's (seaweed wraps), u use the mat immediately n roll the seaweed with the rice inside; Doing Califronia style MAKI (as the video with rice outside), wrapped the bamboo mat with plastic wrapper to do the roll hence the rice wont stick on the mat as u roll it...

Questions: If you were a superhero, what would your costume look like? If you could only eat one dessert for the rest of your life, what would it be? What household chore should they abolish as cruel and unusual punishment (and/or which household chores do you secretly enjoy (if only in an OCD kind of way)?) What famous person would you want to deliver your eulogy? Where would your hide out be if you became a secret agent?

I've also been told that if you're not doing it the California type (rice out,fish in.) that you can wet the nori. I like to cheat with mine I wet the nori after it has been rolled and then put it in the freezer for a bit so it's a bit firmer.

I agree on the strategy gaming point. FPS gaming trains your reaction time, spatial reasoning, teamwork, and thinking under preassure. I was a hardcore FPS gamer in my teens, but i've always played strategy games also. When i get in really stressful situations where i need to think quick, i've found myself entering "game mode" mentally. F.ex. when driving fast on snowy/icy roads and skidding (by accident).
