I have been so looking forward to you watching this episode! Glad you enjoyed it! You have to remember who the creators of Felicity are JJ Abrams and Matt Reeves, both love their Sci Fi. This was based off the Twilight Zone Episode. In which JJ and Matt talk about during the audio commentary on the DVDs of the show. Also the episode was directed by one of the original Twilight Zone Directors. Here is a little interview from his time on set. It’s really cool. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnOxmImVbZWrmpIsi=jYCQtZ4L3nCbjBBy

I always forget that this is a JJ Abrams show! I don't think I've ever actually seen an episode of the Twilight Zone. I've seen it referenced so much, though, that it's probably about time that I did. Lol. This was so much fun to react to. I love that if you gave me a thousand guesses, I would never have come up with what was actually happening. And it was perfect. Thank you for that! I wish it was longer.

@@hellohelloitsdana Yup. The original "Twilight Zone" is worth watching. It's a classic, and you'll probably notice some themes and twists that seem a bit obvious, but that's often because they were done here first, at least on TV, and have been revamped and reused by other sci-fi to the point where they now seem like cliches. Also, the episodes are half-hour long and not connected. So they are more like mini-plays than a coherent series. But that makes it perfect for sampling in small doses whenever you have a little viewing time.

It's so interesting to see how this episode does and doesn't work if the viewer doesn't "get" the very specific Twilight Zone references. In one way, "doing" The Twilight Zone is the whole point -- a fun exercise ifor the whole team, with no real purpose other than just doing it. On the other hand, it does sort of serve the ongoing plot -- though I agree the placement isn't all that great. But really, the whole thing is The Twilight Zone -- that's it. As you said, it's like Community in that way.

Why they felt this episode should be aired in the middle of a 2 parter still puzzles me lol
