Can only imagine how beautiful the likes of the Tettenhall road, west park, goldthorne hill would of been with those big beautiful houses and fields

Even though I was born in 73 I long for the wolverhampton I remember... Those shots of Horsley field take me back.. We lived down that way and walked that road to town all the time with our nan and grandad.. I miss those days

why does it say Bushbury near Wolverhampton? Lowhill is the heart of Wolverhampton

Technically Wolverhampton was just the town centre around St Peters church surrounded by villages, hamlets etc. As industry and houses and roads were built the town expanded and these villages became part of Wolverhampton. Technically everywhere was near Wolverhampton until the 19th and 20th century expansion.

Yes, to say your village was near (Nr.) a larger town like Wolverhampton or Dudley was a very common expression. It's now seen as old fashioned and is very rarely used by anyone under 80 years old
