A look back to the early days of an established colour television PAL broadcasting system in the United Kingdom.
During the 1970's these amazing films provided a break in between the test card and television service trade information and provided a chance to view some of the best freely available interesting colour films then available. This mixed range of footage was often 'sponsored' as an indirect form of advertising, but these colour movie features were indeed classics in their own right.
One of the most memorable films in the series.
Enjoy this lovely little story, so beautifully shot in 1963 without any words, and none needed.
Apologies for any infringement of copyright. there is no element of personal gain or profit in presenting this video along with other Trade Test Films on the channel. It is also available elsewhere on KZbin and already in the public domain.

This is a great watch. And something modern television could learn from. Thank you for providing it to the public.

Thank you, an absolute gem of a film that has remained in my memory for over 50 years since I used to watch it regularly when I was a youngster. This wonderful little film is a treasured memory and experience from my earliest years, along with many other Trade Test Films such as Paint, Giuseppina, and Evolution, to name just a few. So glad to rediscover them all on KZbin after all these years.

This was shown pretty much every afternoon on BBC2 back in the 60's and 70's as part of the trade test films for TV dealers to set up their TVs prior to sale . A very well made film with a nice little story . 😀

Thank you for this -a real treat ! Loved the trade test films-watched the one on the Liverpool catholic cathedral with the glass being set with resin - little realising that 30 years later I would be standing in the same building as one of the pieces fell out and crashed to the floor !

She isn't credited, but the actress playing the girlfriend is the late Caroline Mortimer, who was later married to Leslie Phillips.

music by Ron Grainer!! the same year he made the classic Dr Who theme! I was surprised by the colour and detail of the film: has it been restored? I was wondering if it was shot on 35mm as opposed to 16mm....which meant a larger budget but better quality of course. I'm guessing the original crew are long gone alas, so, maybe we will never know.

If this movie was remade today with gen z actors the spoiled rich boy would be driving a tesla and the poor boy would be restoring the 1960s sports car from the original film
