Lol I'm just imaging what the creature who shows up after the board wipe would look like with the ozolith in play! Yeah this creature has a charge counter, three Ki counters, two level up counters, five spore counters and three Debt counters. Opponent: What's its toughness now? You: Still a zero/two.

I think the Felisa/Phyrexian Devourer combo is a cool big flashy combo, but not as broken as you think Your deck requires Felisa to stay on the board, and once people realize that they will target your Commander as quickly as they can (I have the same issue with my Teysa, Orzhov Scion deck) The other is that when you do make 50 tokens, they all don't have haste and being in black/white they won't gain it, so your opponents get one more turn to deal with you or your board

@@joshhutchins6747 Yeah like anyone is going to let a Vedalkin Orrery stay on the field. Also just because there is protection doesn't mean that one blue and one green players across the table are letting that Terferi Protection be cast or instantly destroying the boots when it hits table. The combo is late game stuff, it is not going to win games early and that's if it goes off

Many of the Clockwork creatures work great with this deck. They come into play with +1/+1 counters already on them (typically 4), so they make Inklings quickly. Inklings are great, but add Divine Visitation and you're cranking out 4/4 Angels with Vigilance instead. Citadel Siege (add 2 +1/+1 counters at the beginning of your combat) and Duelist Heritage (give one of your attackers Double Strike) are also big assists and they're already in the C21 deck. Once opponents realize what you're doing, they really don't want to kill your creatures with counters on them (especially Clockwork Hydra), and so just let them through -- so make sure you have a way to sacrifice them when you're ready.

When most foreign languages use their own sets of pronunciations, it’s inevitable. I only know this one because i lived in Japan for a couple years in high school. One way the Japanese language is nice is that pronunciations of vowels are consistent, so any time you see the letter I it sounds the same.

Unfortunately phyrexian devourer can only be highest cmc in the deck + 5 maximum. That is because the effect itself sacrifices him when ever he gets past 7 power. So don't matter if you respond to the trigger with more triggers all you would be doing is eating the cards from your deck for possibly max cmc + 5 counters
@hwfjj1989

Not sure about the Phyrexian Devourer combo works and erratas it got, but don't you have have to sacrifice it the moment it gets 7 power ? Is it part of its second ability, or can you respond it by sacrificing again ?
@edhdeckbuilding
@edhdeckbuilding 3 жыл бұрын
it's a trigger. so it uses the stack. anything that uses the stack can be responded to. this is from gatherer: "Phyrexian Devourer’s first ability continually checks its power as a state trigger. Once it triggers, it won’t trigger again as long as the ability is on the stack. If the ability is countered and the trigger condition is still true, it will immediately trigger again. If the ability resolves, you’ll have to sacrifice Phyrexian Devourer even if its power has been reduced to 6 or less by then." so i'm quite certain it works.

@@edhdeckbuilding @Gougoule The errata text is different from the version of the card he shows in the video. It's actually: "When Phyrexian Devourer’s power is 7 or greater, sacrifice it. Exile the top card of your library: Put X +1/+1 counters on Phyrexian Devourer, where X is the exiled card’s mana value." So the exile ability does not have the sacrifice reference at all in it, so you can keep using it even with a sacrifice trigger on the stack. It should not sacrifice itself as part of a resolution of an exile trigger
@chrysmurphy3974
@chrysmurphy3974 3 жыл бұрын
@@edhdeckbuilding I don't think it does, yes the first ability triggers and sits on the stack but with the second ability, the last sentence is the key info. Every time the second ability resolves, as part of its resolution it checks if the devourer's power is now 7 or more and then forces the sacrifice as part of the resolution. So yes, you can activate it multiple times but the first time the ability resolves and the power is 7 or more you are forced to sacrifice it as part of the resolution. There is no window to activate it again as the sac is part of the resolution.

No, actually. Rule 704.8 reads "If a state-based action results in a permanent leaving the battlefield at the same time other state-based actions were performed, that permanent’s last known information is derived from the game state before any of those state-based actions were performed." As an example, if a creature with undying has a +1/+1 counter and then gets hit by a Black Sun's Zenith big enough to kill it, the last known information says it had both kinds of counters, so it can't come back with undying. Which means that Felisa would also see all of the counters (+1/+1 and -1/-1) and reward you with that many Inklings.
@coreyroberson4550
@coreyroberson4550 3 жыл бұрын
@@edhdeckbuilding They cancel each other out when state-base effects are checked, which usually results in a counter-less creature on the battlefield. But if they are already dead, Rule 704.8 states that you use last known information, which includes both the +1/+1 counters and the -1/-1 counters. It's really good with Felisa.

If an effect would give my creature -X/-X until end of turn (Like Retribution of the Ancients) while Felisa is on my board, then would I still make tokens equal to the amount of +1/+1 counters on it before the -X/-X? Or does -X/-X remove +1/+1 counters?
@edhdeckbuilding

it does not. -1/-1 counters and +1/+1 counters cancel each other out and are removed as a state-based effect. but just giving -x/-x through some other means does not. you still get your inklings.
