Like the addition of a grass growing compartment! They all seemed to agree that the fountain was a hit. It allowed all drinking styles eg the paw dipper,the bowl slurper x the fountain licker!!! It was enjoyable watching them all experiment with the new toy 😊

Robert, Your kitties are so fortunate to have you as their Dad. That looks like an awesome water fountain for small animals like Mr. Vivo, and his family and friends. As a “retired” ICU RN, I know how important water is to all living creatures. My mom had one or two kitties at a time when I was a girl. And the one she had was a Tonkanese (might not have that spelled correctly), which is half Siamese (can’t recall if it’s a blue point or seal point) and half Burmese. At any rate, it was a female kitty that started developing urinary and bladder infections. This problem that developed after about 6 months of being spaded. My folks were gone on vacation somewhere, and I was living at home while going to college. One day I couldn’t find her, Lucy was her name, and I got concerned, and kept looking and found her hiding in a far corner behind a piece of furniture and a long curtain. Animals hide like that when they don’t feel well or are dying. I found what Vet she used and took Lucy right away. She had a nasty urinary tract infection that made its way to her one kidney. She had a full bladder that had to be drained also. She ended up spending a week at the Vet, and my folks came home early from vacation. From that point on my mom had to buy her special kitty food that was low in ash, and water that was clean and always available. So that meant a water facet in each of the two bathrooms running constantly as both of the kitties she had at the time liked their running water. (Even in the kitchen.) If I had not noticed and taken Lucy to the Vet when I did, she would have died. Kitties like to play in the trickling water also. After that one episode, Lucy had only one more urinary track infection. The thing I wonder about is in the cities and apartments, the drinking water is almost always soft water--and so I wonder if that could be a problem for some kitties and their urinary infects. My folks always lived in the country so that was never the issue to the best of my knowledge. But awesome water fountain, thank you for sharing! Take care. 🐈‍⬛

I had to get rid pf my original pet fountain because the plastic caused feline acne in a few of my cats. I have one stainless steel and one ceramic. Yes, there are a few plastic components but apparently not significant enough to cause acne. If they can develop a ceramic version.... Love your cats and videos.

Thank you. You are right, most old plastic fountains are very difficult to keep clean. The problems come from the fact that bacteria nest more easily in plastic. And so far, every fountain has some plastic parts that come into contact with the water. What really matters to me is how easy these parts are to clean. In this case, all modules are separable and very easy to wash. Additionally, the biggest problem for me has always been the pump, which is very difficult to keep clean. In this model, the pump has no contact with water. But I think that if you are happy with the setting, you shouldn't change it.

If it has a filtering system that wouldn't work well in our cat hood. we have two hand drinkers and they constantly clog any filtering system in less that a day.

We have a lot of cats (including rowers) and so far I have to say that it works well and doesn't clog anything. Two sponge filters catch coarse dirt well and the main filter does not get clogged.

Your baby is beautiful. I would never use plastic for water or food for any of my furry children. Dogs get soars so I imagine kitties can have plastic sensitivity as well. I use the stainless steel bowl fountain. Not as pretty but it gives me peace of mind.

Thank you. It's not so much about sensitivity to plastic as it is about the fact that bacteria nest more easily in plastic. You are right that stainless steel is better, but so far I have not seen fountains where the water does not come into contact with some plastic part. I think it's all about hygiene and cleanliness, we always use stainless steel bowls and plastic fountains, but the key to health is to always keep both clean. We haven't had a problem with it so far.

Well our four cats, two Maine Coon ladies and two european shorthairs prefer the drinking fountain from Miaustore. Made from ceramic and consists of one large square bowls and three towers in three different heights. Can't be moved by our cats and the towers are so tightly put in the bowl that our cats can't get them out. And the fountain is heavy it weighs about 4 kilos.

Nice, but for me the biggest problem in most fountains is the plastic pump, which is located directly in the water and is practically impossible to keep completely clean. For me, putting a plastic pump in the water destroys the usefulness of ceramic or stainless steel. But I'm glad you're happy with your fountain, that's the most important thing.

Robert I found this very informative. Do you suggest fountains vs bowls? I change their water 3 times a day and use filtered water from the fridge. They love it. Our basic water is horrible. It reeks of chlorine. The cats were a hoot checking it out. Do you have problems with them batting at the fountains and them splashing it out? Just curious. Thank you very much. To be honest, it's hard to say which is better. Both options have their advantages and we use both, fountains and bowls. Most often, bowls (made of stainless steel or ceramics) are easier to keep clean and replacing water with fresh water is less complicated. On the other hand, we have found that flowing water motivates our cats to drink more often, which makes them healthier. This fountain is very easy to keep clean, which is a great advantage. It also has a large capacity, which is important for people who are unable to constantly change the water or control the level. The water in the tanks is sterilized automatically by UV and the drinking water can be replaced even remotely via the application. I think this fountain can be a solution to many people's problems, but if your current system works for you and your pets, don't change it. Regarding splashing, it depends more on the cat than what he drinks from. Maine Coons, especially, are known for enjoying playing with water. We have cats that paddle in both fountains and bowls, but we also have cats that politely use them only to drink 😁

Hi Robert, with Minimum 22 cats how many times did you need to add water to your tanks per day, per week? I have a large black lab, large Shepard and 6 cats. Why I asked. The tanks contain 10 liters (2.6 gallons) of water which is automatically sterilized daily by UV light. The main tray with the fountain is about 1.5l (0.4 gallon). The water is replaced with new water from the tanks every day and I practically do not add water to the fountain for 5 days. But we always have several drinking stations at home, not just one fountain. The fountain imitating running water stimulates cats to drink more.

Probably not. Pumped water in a contained vessel will never replicate fresh water. Change your cats water twice a day and use large ceramic dog water bowls away from their food, they will lap it up. Pumps need intricate cleaning, more intricate than people realise. Washing out a bowl with hot water and detergent is way easier than dealing with fountains. Been there. Thumbs down for fountains, sorry.

You are right, fresh water is essential, so frequent replacement is necessary. I agree with you that some fountain designs are very difficult and sometimes even impossible to keep clean. This case is a bit different, the pump has no contact with water and does not need to be cleaned. All modules are detachable and very easy to wash. Additionally, our 15 years of experience shows that flowing water and the sound of water stimulates our cats to drink more, which makes them healthier. Of course, we also use stainless steel bowls for cats that prefer standing water, but to say that fountains are not good is a bit radical.
