So many people on the top there taking selfies instead of just taking in the sight and appreciating the beauty. I understand documenting it but with selfies, jees. I could sit up there for hours and not say a word. Great vid bud, thanks for sharing. ATB, Mike

Such beauty it leaves you wanting words to describe the place. Wonderful. Thanks for letting everyone see this. Getting good with these videos. Really good! Christopher will remember this for the rest of his days, so much better than a video game! Nearly there, I need something to eat! lol. Kids.

Thank for sharing the video, takes me back . My friend and I did a canny bit of backpacking in the early 70's around the Lakes. Get tired now just watching you guys.

Fantastic video and so nice to share this with you son. I was up there last year with my 30 year old son and despite him carrying my backpack, I had a right bloody chew trying to keep up with him. Brought back a lot of good memories watching this. Thank you for sharing it. Cheers Alan

Great video, stunning views, being from the Isle of Man I can see the peaks of the Lakes on clear days. Me and my mate went Easter 2014 camping in the arsehole of nowhere, but was amazing. Your vid has certainly made me want to go back, thanks

+Markwildcamp Thanks Mark, I spend way too much time in front of the PC editing and tweaking footage instead of just getting out and doing it. I'm always trying to improve and take things to the next level. Christopher has loads more energy than me and beats me to the top every time. Had him wild camping too and totally loves the great outdoors,. ATB, Damian.

That's another place up there in The Lakes I haven't been to yet that I'm going to have to get to one day now, ( thanks to yourself )! I live down south here in south London so isn't as easy for me to get up that way as it is for you, but one day yes, thanks again lad.

Lakeland in all it's autumnal glory! A great trip out for you, the wee lad and pooch! Your fabulous wild camping films have got us thinking about getting an inflatable kayak similar to the one you feature, to paddle round our loughs! ATB from Ireland, Martin and Sharron (Purple Peak Adventures).
@Fell_Wanderer9 жыл бұрын
+martin critchley An inflatable kayak is a great idea and inexpensive for the amount of pleasue you get from them. Its great climbing mountains but its just as nice seeing them from a different vantage point like on a beautiful lough, ATB, Damian.

We hiked Catbells in July. One of my mates wanted to do Blencathra but non of the guys were up for it. Catbells was challenging enough for me. ha ha. The views across Derwentwater on the way down were spectacular. Nice video

Catbells is quite steep on the final slope to the summit. Its not as easy some make it out to be. Thanks for watching.

very well put together damion.took my daughter up at about same age.it catches a few people out as its quite a little lung buster. onwards & upwards cheers.
@Fell_Wanderer9 жыл бұрын
+thegeordiefellwalker Thanks, the walk looked easy when viewed from Keswick, I've wanted to do Catbells for years and never got round to it, putting it lower down on my list of walks to do, I thought it would be too easy and have too many people, being a popular family walk. I was always lured away to other high level walks but having the youngin there made me finally do that walk, pleased I did as its one of the best especially the view over Derwentwater.

@Fell_Wanderer9 жыл бұрын
+The CheviotWildCamper its deceiving how easy it looks from Keswick until you start the climb, over the first hill and you think there is only one more peak which is the summit but there is another, had me confused to what was the summit of Catbells, didn't take a map just me gps as I thought it was an easy walk but you are right very steep. ATB, Damian
@geordiewildcamper19888 жыл бұрын
amazing views from the cat bells. young Christopher done really well, he seems a right little fell wanderer in the making Haha. i take my little brother out all the time wild camping in wark forest and he loves it, especially when we stay at houghtongreen bothy. we are off to roughside bothy for a 4 day work party in March with the MBA and are going to do a few nights wild camping beforehand. You should try and attend with the youngin as it is a great experience for us and them especially when they learn the history and also get taught things like roofing and pointing etc. Hope Rom see you there pal. ATB Niels
@Fell_Wanderer8 жыл бұрын
+Niels I've thought about staying in a bothy but you can't guarentee to have the place to yourself. When I'm wild camping I know there will be noone else around. I think anyone who uses the bothies should give something back like help with repairs like you said. Thanks for watching. Damian
@geordiewildcamper19888 жыл бұрын
+Fell Wanderer i know what you mean that's why i always have a wild camp spot planned as a plan b. you can't beat the outdoors being free to roam with nothing but yourself to rely on. but still that feel and smell you get in a bothy is just as addicting. we are doing 2 nights wild camping and 2 bothying. keep the vids coming. atb Niels

+Ricketymanfilms There are too many people on Catbells to camp high up on the fell so would have to arrive really late to have some privacy, lower down at the lakeside would have been nice though, the sunsets over Derwenwater are amazing. The next night I was going to do an overnighter on Walla Crag but felt under the weather so gonna put that one on my list to do for next year. ATB, Damian.

+goonluv Gordon its a beautiful walk, one of Lakeland's finest. Christopher loved it, I know from experience when I was his age and spending time in the hills, its a spark which ignites a life long love of the outdoors. Start them young and they're smitten for life.
