I'm watching your Lake District videos as a great way to invigorate my day. Used to do these walks with my Wainwrights. You capture the exact essence of walking in the Lakes which is marvellous. I love what you're doing and your infectious and positive outlook keeps making me smile. Reminds me of my younger self 30 years ago!

Thank you for this. I stayed in Keswick just before Christmas and never having done any walking/climbing in the Lakes I checked out your KZbin videos and I decided to do try Catbells after watching this. So, at 67 years old that was a milestone for me getting to the top. I also did Latrigg. So I was well chuffed. I'm going to try this one the next time I go. Your enthusiasm and inspiration helped a lot Cheers Abby :)

Without a doubt, some of the best walking videos I’ve watched on KZbin, so well presented, narrated and so informative. You should start a walking club I would be at the front of the queue.

Fabulous video of an amazing bit of England. I walked the Cumbria Way back in May this year. Spectacular walk and enjoyed every step. Coming from the Netherlands the valleys, fells, pikes and crags were absolutely breathtaking, near alien. I would love to go back for some more climbs as they are the most rewarding. Catbells, Skiddaw, Glaramara and the Rossett and Langdale Pikes are on the list!

Lovely video Abbie, brought back great memories of the day I walked up Catbells with my step-dad and five year old nephew. That was over twenty years ago now. I remember we stopped for lunch at the top and were engulfed by a swarm of wasps. However, we managed to escape unscathed. Funny what sticks in your mind...more importantly, the views over Derwentwater were stunning! Love your films, keep up the great work.

Great video. We did that route recently but the other way, parked by Chapel bridge (near Newland's church), up to High Spy, then along to Maiden Moor and Catbells. We then came back down to Newlands Hause (between Catsbell and Maiden Moor) and down back into Little Town and the car. Means no longish walk around the base of Catbells.

Another great walk Abbie, Catbells is actually my favourite Lakeland Fell, not the highest by a long way but a great route up from Hawes End and fantastic views. You could have taken a different route down from Dale Head Tarn, tracking east cross-country and down via the former Rigghead Quarries, turning left at the base to head back via Castle Crag and then back either via Catbells' terrace path or the lakeside path. Another reason I like Catbells, different routes of ascent and so many ways to return, the full Newlands Round, returning via Hindscarth (pronounced High-nd-scar-th) is a corker. Best wishes Rod.

Your videos do an interesting thing to me. Firstly, the excellent skills with your shots, your editing, and your raw enthusiasm make me want to go there (and I will - I'm watching these because the Lake District is becoming a yearly fixture in my hiking schedule!) - but the amazing sights also want me to not watch the full video because of spoilers! There's nothing like experiencing those spectacular backdrops first time for yourself. I've decided to watch the first bit to see what the climb is like, and then watch it all back later once I've done it for real! I've done that with your Haystacks video.
@Matt78953 жыл бұрын
Update: today I did this route. I watched a little more of your video so I knew where you diverged from the main path - my fitness definitely wasn’t up to doing Dale Head! I am so glad I stopped there because the waterfall took me by surprise and absolutely blew me away. After that, a long, LONG walk back down the valley to get back to the car, but more than worth it. What an amazing climb, thank you so much for inspiring me to do it!
