I had a similar issue with my 1st 572. Running in the heat of the day and it wouldn’t stay running once it warmed up, dealer didn’t know what to make of it as they’d just come out recently. Sent it back to husqvarna, gave me a new saw and she’s been runnin like a top. Cheers from the Catskills, keep your saw in the wood!

This was as always Bjarne a great video. I was scared when I saw that dead rotten tree hit that big one break and come back at you. My son's good buddy, lost his Dad this past Saturday. He was cutting trees on his farm and one fell on him and he died at the Hospital, here in Michigan. Super guy, so we'll liked and respected. Would help everyone. He had been cutting trees for 40 years. I've known them since my son was 10. He is 26 now. The Dad was 61. I like how you always have a escape route. Stay safe and prayers for you and others working cutting the big timber.

Hey Bjarne, Those saws the "550mk 2, the 572 and 592 XP" are those auto tune saws and need to be plugged into a laptop with the diagnostic program. There is really very little you can do to one out in the bush other than very basic stuff like change the Plug, the Fuel And Air filter etc. I was one of the first people here in the states to have one of the 572 XP because I have a Friend in Austria who brought me one when he and his Fiancee came here for a visit before they were even available at dealers here for sale. Mine is Out of the box Stock except for the muffler I built for it myself. We had a Saw Shop here that was run by a good old guy who did all my hot saw work porting and the like or when one was seriously broken and I just didn't have time to tear one down and rebuild it ....it always went to him. He was the guy all the local Fallers, Loggers, Hotshots and Smoke Jumper Crews used I got 2 real nice completely Rebuilt Husky from him that I ran for several years ....sadly when the whole pandemic crap hit he got sick and passed away....anyways before that our Son and I were up there one day picking up a new roll of 3/8"- 0.50 Full Chisel Skip tooth chain so we could make our own chains and he started asking T.J. (our Son) if he knew anything about computers and of course he does so T.J. helped him get his new Lap top up and running and installed the New Husqvarna program in it to diagnose those saws....well he also let us download it to T.J.s laptop so we could use it when we got in a bind....and thank God we did. You know because most of our Timber is not nearly as big as what you deal with so we have 3 of the 550xp saws....1 of the original ones without the auto tune and 2 new 550 Mk II saws that are auto tune....we swapped out that Narrow kerf .375 Picco or what ever it's called chain they put on them and put a standard 3/8" sprocket on ours and got 20" and a 24" bars for them and we ported the mufflers that came on them ourselves and turned loose all the HP they were loosing because of the factory mufflers. Ours still have the National Forest Service required spark screens in them but now they flow like they should and have bigger 7/8" exhaust outlets.....anyway these changes didn't seem to bother the little 550's one bit except to make them way more powerful and you could really lean on them if need be. I was so pleased with them I got the new 572 from Austria by sending my friend the proper amount of Dollars for him to convert it to Marks and he brought me mine that next fall...a whole year before anyone here in the states had them for sale. Now mine didn't like the hot days at all and like yours would start but not run right. It reminded me of an engine that was boiling the fuel from heat and then vapor locking....We hooked it up to the diagnostic program at lunch and it had several issues besides acting like Vapor Locking... basically mine had to go into the Old Man's shop so he could replace some things in the electronics of the power head before it worked like it does today. Im fairly sure that Husqvarna fixed these issues because the new 592's don't have this issue from what Friends in Austria and Germany tell me....so that's all I know. Mine hasn't missed a beat since we got it back no matter how warm it's getting outside ever since then. T.J. can tell you exactly what parts the Old Man and he replaced and can have him tell you if you want but your best bet is to take it back to your hot saw guy there in BC and let him run it on his program and it will tell him exactly what's up. The Wife and our Son and Daughter and Son in law all went in and bought me a old stock new still in the box 390xp and gave it to me for this last Father's Day complete with full wrap handle bar, a 28" & 32 " Pro Lite Bar's and a new Husqvarna Hard Hat with Hearing Protection just like you wear complete with screen face shield like I told you they were gonna..(it's taken me a while to get used to it and loosing my old Skull Bucket and earplugs and Bugz screen glasses but I had to do it or else....orders from Mom the real boss of our little logging business, but my Brand New Old Stock 390 made it much easier to deal with it.....those saws are still my favorite power head ...yeah it's heavy....but it's simple to work on for me and is old school in the bush fixable and for me that's a huge plus...we just got it's new muffler all built and put on and I'm still breaking it in yet but .......buddy, buddy, buddy....it's a log eating machine...stay safe my Friend.

awesome videos! You're a great feller!! I run a small timber farm down south of ya in Washington state and just had a thought, my good friend Jack Beeler (hotsaws101 on youtube) builds my saws (mostly husky's) for me he's down in Oregon I've had lots of built saws over the years, his not only run with tons of power they last (I believe) as long or longer than stock saws. Plus Jacks always up to date and tweaks out the factory problems for me. Thank you for the vids -Ryan B

I’ve watched some hotsaws101 videos. He’s a good faller. Must be fun having your own Timber to log. Do you mill wood too?
@ryanbarringer609
@ryanbarringer609 2 жыл бұрын
@@BjarneButler Yeah Jacks a neat guy. I'd guess you use Walkers saw shop up there? I had walkers saw shop build me a saw in 1998 was a sweet 394 (before the x torx). Yes I feel very fortunate, though all second growth, no big wood big here is a 48'' doug fir. We do a lot of custom milling though my neighbor has a mill, not I so we trade trees for lumber. But we have commercial woodshop setup so we can make pretty cool stuff. We hand cut everything then shovel log to landing. I don't think folks that aren't from the west coast can begin to understand from your videos just how steep and difficult the ground your working on is! It reminds me of when they used to cut in our coast mtns here (the Olympics) anymore its shutdown in the higher country down here. I think whats so great about your videos is your humility, in that you don't just show the perfect shots like a lot of other logging videos out there, so your giving younger folks who want to enter the field a realistic picture of what it is like, as none of us get every tree exact each time, especiallly big wood on that steep of ground!! An old logger friend always told me " I can get a tree to go where it wants to go every time"! --RB

Timber is mostly on government property , the reason they avoid straight lines is to make the cutblocks less visible, the uneven lines appear natural

I suppose that's a strange question. All my younger life, my parents' went for summer trips into the mountains of New Mexico. In North Eastern New Mexico, there is a large high elevation Lake called Eagles Nest. Getting there from the East takes you through Cimmaron Valley, and the sweet smell of yellow pine trees permeates the air. The scent is so strong you can smell it in your car with the windows rolled up. You can almost taste it. I would have given anything to have lived in that Valley 😂
