Utterly, utterly miserable lives - no Welfare State, no State Pension, no Sickness Benefit and God help you if you became disabled. The only provision accessible was the harshness of the Municipal Workhouse.

Most of their faces bear whitness of an rather harsh and unhappy life, so much different to historical photographs of their middle,-and upper class contemporaries.

Lord, O Lord i whip for them, what humanity have done to those poorly children's God why So much injustice, And dispear and people with No heart for those that need help and unconditional love.
