@spaghetti5914
@spaghetti5914 Жыл бұрын
@@Omar-kl3xpIt's all odd, as someone who has a very diverse friend group, I do notice that men who are into athleticism tend to struggle with generally treating women differently. Not necessarily with sexism, just, different. As if they struggle with understanding them or how to converse with them. Which is kinda funny because when it comes to complex conversation [I do agree that there may be gender differences in how someone does small talk, counters conflict or responds], opinions are so diverse it doesn't look into gender. That's what differentiates humans, after all, our ability to ignore our first instinct and look deeper, beyond our biological programming. But before I get off topic again, I do find difficulty in puzzling out some men's inflexibility towards the more feminine. I guess one could say I don't understand why they don't understand? Maybe it's because I've been around many people, so I'm used to being around varying personalities. Maybe me being lgbt plays a role and places me in a neutral ground? Maybe very feminine women are like masculine men too, but since I haven't met many, I don't know their perspective? Or it's just about how open to new experiences some is as a person, so the issue is personality and not gender based. I don't know, just some quick thoughts

Not necessarily true. If you were a stockier girl it really limited what your family was willing to do for you. They were more willing to send smaller girls to school for longer or set them up for marriages with higher class men. I just wanted to add that being “masculine” as a woman and having muscles is not a bad thing, neither is being “feminine” and being muscular. Taking drugs is a whole nother story and the words masculine/feminine are both meaningless stereotypes and you don’t have to live by them. You don’t have to be defined by words that have no real meaning. Their definitions are man-made and you can act and dress however you want.

Reminds me of a good friend of mine. She threw in track and field events and was consistently on top of the rankings. She even made all American and won her state competitions in high school. She worked incredibly hard and it was awesome to see her lift huge weights for exercises like snatches. However, ever since I met her, people were awful to her about her strength. One of her teammates often made jokes about her being trans, trying to get a rise out of her by suggesting she “cheated” to get where she was. No, she discovered that she loved throwing at a young age and worked her ass off to get to the top. At almost every competition, a parent lodged a complaint that she was either competing in a bracket for younger girls or that she was on steroids. It was never the case. She is still to this day throwing at an Ivy League school and more beautiful than ever.

@Floppa The Based ewwww first of all those who are genuinely into fitness do it for THEMSELVES, not others (& certainly not you). there’s an entire category of people who are attracted to bigger muscles. clearly you aren’t a part of that & that’s okay. you are allowed to state your OPINION about it, but you can’t phrase it like it’s a fact that applies to everyone. women with strong arms may not be attractive to YOU, but plenty of men & women are about that shit. quite frankly the percentage of women who are strong af is super small, so it shouldn’t even matter to you anyway. you can easily avoid female body builders and still have a huge dating pool. so stop trying to make people feel bad about doing what they love, & let them find someone who loves them for who they are. that goes for everything really. live and let live my friend. also, beauty standards will always exist to an extent, but that doesn’t mean everyone has to look the same & be the same. that would be boring and horrible cause variety is the spice of life.

@@trippytofu Interesting points. ‘Psychology today’ (20 July 2019) , however, suggests that women ‘appreciate’ muscular builds on men, and that men are more intimidated by other muscular men. Idk,imho, confidence is key to sexual attractiveness (confidence ,not arrogance). Intimidation ? Again, its unlikely a overtly muscular guy’s is gonna try to intimidate a confident guy. I’ve had to deal with some quite scary people over the years, and ,although I’m careful with them, Ive always been ok. I’m an ordinary 67 yr old, medium build 83kg (180lb), never gone to gym (I prefer hiking,meditation,shadow boxing, body weight exercises), not a ‘martial arts expert’ . In short,an average guy, no real issues (just a few - who hasn’t ?) - but no confidence issues either. No attractiveness or intimidation issues either. I get it that people get hooked on gym ,that’s great , I can relate to that cos I used to run marathons and got hooked on that- then i asked myself what the heck am I doing.. but imho ‘roids guarantee heart attacks by 50s latest..

Finally, some natty female bodybuilding inspirations ✨ I'm about 11 months into my training and have never felt more feminine and confident in my own skin! Ladies, trust me; plenty of men like muscle on a woman. It doesn't make you look 'manly' when done naturally. While I did lose a little bit of titty (went down from 36DDD to 36C), my waist is snatched in from engaging and strengthening those abdominal muscles, and my waist and ass have gotten significantly more shapely. I LOVE my ass and hips!! *EDIT: Forgot to mention, the muscles on your chest can also give some lift and shape to your breasts if you're lifting very heavy weights I've inherited my large arms from my dad. After my first 6 months of training, I started getting tons of compliments from both men and women. Almost a year in and I still have not been told I look like a man. Hope this helps anyone who is looking into lifting themselves! ✨ 💪

I got limited help from the gym & learned how to do "reps to failure" by reading. When I wore a sports top, I looked nearly flat chested. I didn't care. All women have testosterone, and it’s impossible for a medical prosidure to make anyone another gender. Even in cases of transgender people, their medical prosidures are called gedner AFFIRMING, not gender creating. Meaning, no medical practice could actually change gender, rather, change thr way someone looks to agreye with how the brain wants the body to look. Basically, trans people are trans no matter if they get any injections or surgeries. I bring this up bc if not even trans medical prosedures are considered “gender changing”, then how on earth could female body builders do that?

I really like these, it's hard to know as a chick what parts I want to prioritize for hypertrophy, because I've only seen how a muscle looks very exaggerated on enhanced female athletes for the most part. Like I don't really like how big lats and traps look, but I've only ever seen them on women who are almost certainly on drugs and never just moderately developed on a natural bodybuilder, because I don't know that many muscular women IRL. And also the super low body fat percentage looks kind of weird on both genders and makes it even harder to tell what would look good

Just train for overall strength and you will look very good. Squats, deadlifts, presses and chin ups. If you only focus on the muscle individually then you’re gonna have a hard time tracking progress and evaluating your physique because it will only look a certain way due to proportion.
@theyetti90
@theyetti90 Жыл бұрын
@@yoeyyoey8937 I wholeheartedly disagree. You can get very strong without getting bigger, and if I train someone with strength as the focus, if she knows how to train for strength specifically then her body won't develop the way she wants it to. I love this, though I understand why his message can be misconstrued. I’m a collegiate powerlifter and love being strong, but I hate the association many times that being strong and gaining muscle as a female is simply turning me more masculine and is unflattering. I love that while I can be strong, I can still maintain feminine features and be sexy, snatched, curvy, etc because being strong and looking feminine aren’t mutually exclusive. However, of course there are females who love the physicality of having a more masculine frame when building muscle and I admire that too! And neither them or I should be shamed for wanting to build muscle in any fashion anyways. (And also note the kind of musculature anyone builds is largely based on genetics and the kind of targeting lifts/exercises you do in the end)
