Back in the early 80s, I had a female kickboxing teammate. She was a tough figure; we guys only used about 25% force in our punches and kicks. During an after-fight party, as she was celebrating her title victory, she thanked me for being a sparring partner and said that because we were hitting her hard in training, the females she fought were a non-issue. She never knew we were throwing light punches and kicks!

That's the equivalent of lighter dudes getting used to sparring with the heavyweights. I remember competing as a teen in amateur kickboxing and I was 165 lbs soaking weight, so sparring with 205+ dudes gave me a ton of confidence when it came to getting hit, even if they were going light on me lol. I have three older brothers also enlisted, my dad was in French legion (retired), they've always included me in their activities like boxing, martial arts, shooting, swimming, climbing etc. But I remember that even they encouraged me to push myself, they were always careful not to hurt me, only light punches, or they wouldn't allowed me to use some rifles with a stronger recoil, skydiving when i was old enough etc. We used to go camping with my dad's friends (also French legionnaires) and our fun was training at 6 am, shooting competitions, campfire stories about amazon jungle etc. Do you think I'm a badass female now😎 ??? No....I'm still a female . My anatomy didn't change, I didn't turned into a forth brothers 😅. The only thing I was better than them it was flexibility. Its happened throughout the government and military. They push out the people on top for the ones that subscribe to their bullshit, they only promote their own, they only let in their own, and they eventually know that either by being somewhat hostile or by sheer incompetence get normal people that they believe to be extremists. At certain agencies, it was looked down upon by practically everyone if you were pro 1A or 2A. They were getting people to snitch on their fellow colleagues. None of which actually matters in modern day real combat. My niece is fighting in Ukraine (1.5 years now) on the frontlines as a combat medic. She's killed at least 20 russian soldiers in direct combat with rifle and grenades. She is not alone, there are 2 other infantry soldiers who are women she also fights with in a mostly male team. Bullets / rifles don't care about gender. A woman firing an AK-74 or M16 makes no g-damn difference in ground warfare in Ukraine - if she can aim, she can kill - that's all that matters, the ability to put bullets on Russians. That's all the men there care about ,they don't care one wit that the trooper next to them is a woman.. if they're shooting Russians, they're all good. And don't give me "but women can't ruck as far as men!" ... True, we can't. But in real modern day combat it is beyond irrelevant. My niece says in her nearly 2 years of ground combat she's never had to run more than 1 KM with full kit... something she can do as well as men... if she had to run 5+ km, yeah it would matter, she'd tire faster carrying the same weight... but 99.99% of ground warfare in Ukraine involves MECHANIZED mobility. APCs / IFVs bring the infantry in and out of combat... This isn't WWI or WWII where infantry are running 10 km or more to an objective. They're getting to combat (or out of) with APCs, IFVs and even civilian trucks and cars that are littered EVERYWHERE. The notion of infantry "running" to places in this day and age is a MYTH. So what's all your vaunted strength as a man good for? Not much, it's not helping you kill any better than a woman. The women in the UA are all carrying the exact same weight rucksacks (my niece carries MORE than the men because she's a medic and has to carry medical gear PLUS standard combat kit). The weight doesn't matter, they ain't running anywhere.. if they have to move more than a mile, they call in a transport or take a van / car / pickup to move. Running on foot is suicide due to artillery and drones - those days are GONE from warfare.

In other words there are female cadre who have not made it through the training themselves. I wonder if they do any of the training evolutions that many of the instructor’s will take part in from time to time. 4 time runs, Conditioning runs & ruck runs down the trail of tears, O course or jumping under the boat with you to run someone out of the boat crew for fun. 🤔

A woman may be able to perform well during an FTX. The issue is, in war, a combat unit will be expected to conduct high frequencies of patrols between refitting and recovery. Patrols can be 6 to 8 miles out and back with all your needed equipment for days on end. Many in the mountains, desert jungle, freezing temperatures.... A woman's body begins to decline in strength and endurance the minute the first patrol begins. She will be dragging as I'm the back and slowing down everything. She won't be able to carry platoon or squad machine guns or radios. Her footing will diminish causing a high risk for injury, she will be more confused and less likely to remember things like challenge and password or rally points, operations briefs etc. She will be at higher risk for heat injuries. Not even to mention a TIC situation, what possible good will she be? FET teams would normally be in the center of an element with the PL or 1SG so any contact would be at the perimeter. They would not be doing anything during a maneuver unless it was an absolute emergency. The weakest and most out of shape guy can be kicked in the head to get stronger/faster. A girl is just going to claim she's getting picked on. Most of them are going to be put at company HQs anyway and then they will be entangled with some sexual accusations or something. They will get pregnant right before difficult deployments or training comes up.

I’m by no means taking away with what those women did. For years they held that line and held it against incredible odds and when it went to shit they died where they stood if they chose to. However it’s a now a case study to students of war to look at.

Different roles suit different people. I don’t understand why people don’t understand that. Plenty of women getting after it in the CIA. Plenty of em were getting after it in psy op and intel. My brother is a Detective now on the NOPD; New Orleans Police Department. He earned a rep on the streets as a cop not to be fucked with - he played running back in college and wrestled. A stocky 5’9” 225 lbs. anyway…years ago when he was on the street he had a female partner. They got a call to a fight at a bar; they show up on scene…two guys slugging it out!!! Female cop jumps out; my brother was driving…she runs to the fight - one of the guys tossed her aside like a rag doll. My brother! He grabbed that guy put him face down; cranked his arm - cuffed him. Then got up - put the other guy down and cuffed him up…granted they were both drunk but…his female partner? Stood there watching!!! She didn’t re-engage, didn’t think to call back up, being thrown on the ground had her SHOOK! My brother promptly asked for a new partner.

When they began appearing while I was in years back it was nothing but endless versions of the same problems you’ve discussed, but the worst of it by far was the extreme decline in combat effectiveness. Only an occasional female was physically capable or competent to be present, but by lowering those standards allowing goobers to make it through training into the units was devastating. Not to mention the whole completely screwy psychology of having the genders mixed. It screwed absolutely everything up.
