Shooting an AR 15 and a Crossman AR bee bee gun is the same shit. Jake ain't wrong. 5.56 has minimal recoil that can be learn somewhat quickly. The fundamentals of basic marksmanship takes a lot more practice. I grew up with guns. I shot pellet and bee bee guns for years before ever shooting a real one. Once I got to the big boy guns it was just a matter of controlling recoil. His advice is 100% worth it. Get a Bee Bee gun. Hell, most ever gun guy has one and still uses them.

because the Green Berets take those schools once they reach their respective teams LOL. In addition, they have other schools by levels, they have CQB, I think basic, then they go to (SFAUC) which is Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat and then if they want to only do hostage rescue and DA, they request to be in the CIF companies, which I would say are the mini delta force that are now called HTD and they go to something called Sfartec that has already changed and I don't know what it's called, also the Green Berets are training with bunker destruction, trenches. Both organizations are the best in their elements.

It's way more accurate to see SFAS in BUD/S as the first few weeks of BUD/S Team Week = Hell Week There is massive drop off of candidates after Hell Week, and after that the cadre are there to instruct and teach, you're learning combat dive, etc. Same with SFAS, once you're done with that, you're learning

It's interesting because doctors have said that lack of sleep equals THE EXACT SAME BEHAVIOR as being drunk and unable to properly function. Then the SEALs own doc and psychologist says that the importance of sleep for them to perform at the highest levels is paramount. THEN THE SEALs themselves have been well documented in saying that when people ask them for tips on best supplements to have an edge, their GREATEST SUPPLEMENT AND SECRET is sound sleep. Even detailing the sleeping conditions, wearing socks, no ambient light, quiet even down to the best temperature/REM sleep etc... But when selecting these men, the first thing they all do is deprive sleep. I could make a very strong argument that that's utterly ridiculous and not the best way to tap into the deepest talent pool possible though of course I understand that a lack of sleep may come into play on any given mission and they'd have to receive training in how to overcome it. But as an everyday training tool, I could argue it's not the most effective way. Obviously lack of sleep demoralizes and attacks the center of motivation so some use to gauge grit is applicable as well. Fascinating and arguable. Respectfully. Great interview as always Jake.
@clydewillis2 ай бұрын
I worked with some guys from 10th Group and asked them about that. One of them explained that when you are sleep deprived your real character is impossible to hide. If you cut corners, do sloppy work, are impatient, or a hot head, that will always come out quickly when you haven't slept. Army SF and Rangers want to weed those guys out very quickly.
