As someone who studies a lot about pharmacology and endocrinology. Even after years of HRT, Male to Female trans women still have almost double the amount of testosterone than the average woman. The one swimmer, who won first place in NCAA, had her blood work done and even after years of HRT, she still had about 112 ng/dL of testosterone in her blood, compared to the average woman on the higher end of the spectrum having 70 ng/dL. And there are compounds that can help flatline the Test, but I'll keep it 100 with yall, flatlining your test as a biological male is more stress than most trans people would want. The mental side effects alone would be enough to want to stop treatment. It's not worth it just to be on an even playing ground with women. Not to mention physical traits anyways.

I am a Genetic Male. I was found to be Gender Dysphoric at age five. (Being native I was told I was "of two spirits") All my life I had Over tight tendons and long legs so by the time I was 13 I was hitting near Olympic times in the 440 and relays. In Highschool I was deciding whether or not to transition and thus I had to have a talk with the track coach. I was told that it would be awkward as far as locker room privileges, but I would be welcome to run for the girls' team. I was raised with the knowledge that boys/Men and girls/Women were built different and it was immoral for boys to compete against girls in many sports so I opted to quit track despite how much it would have been good for my Self-image as a girl. I knew that ultimately; I would be taking so much away from the girls and that would not help me gain any perches in the pear group I was trying to get in to. Girls would not be accepting of me taking from them and my own wins would all be hallow and pointless. Girls, Ladies, if you are put into a position where you are "Expected" to compete like this Walk on to the track or mat whatever and as soon as the gun sounds or the whistle blows Sit Down Cross your arms and calmly Say No and offer the trans person the opportunity to talk about it thus offering them some acceptance. Tell them You train as hard as them and so by them competing with a clear advantage they are Stealing from you your opportunities and if that is how they think they will ever gain acceptance in to the one pear group they want most, they are mistaken. Be kind but stand up for yourself. Know that not all of us have lost our minds and we support and Respect (and envy) You.

Wow...thank you for being honest about this! I'm sure it's been hard for you in many aspects of life, but that's very honorable of you to recognize the huge advantage you would likely have if you transitioned and started competing against girls/women. That's mainly the problem I think most people have with it (I won't speak for everyone as I know a lot of people are just hateful), that it would be unfair to the cis girls/women that didn't get to go through puberty as a male, and only then start taking hormone suppressants. I honestly feel that trans-athletes deserve to compete, but I feel that some considerations need to be made so that it can still be fair to all involved!

@ledbetter12262 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry about what you went through. On that note, Training is exactly what it is, its training. When you were fighting men in the military, they are not trying to kill you, its not a life or death situation. When a female who did in fact train with men, fights a man who is actually trying to cause bodily harm and possibly kill her, its a entirely different scenario. Same thing in sports, they may train with men, but when it comes down to the "Nitty Gritty" or the "Real Deal" you have to factor in things like True absolute strength, Adrenaline, Bone density, lung capacity, ETC.
I'm trans and i agree with the woman in pink. once you've gone through puberty, the bodies are just different. I fully believe respect goes both ways. I don't know if there's some kind of a full body check to really see what weight or group of sport a person can fit in.

Back in the day that was considered inappropriate to talk about in public and that's why they came up with the word gender instead. Notice how the sports they mentioned were things like equestrian sports and roller derby and not strength sports. And notice how in weightlifting the trans woman won. @GrumpyGrebo3 жыл бұрын
Some people are born with talent. To get to the same level, other people must hone their skills. It is possible to hone your skills past the level of somebody with raw untrained talent. When somebody with talent hones their skills and gets trained talents, you aren't going to compete with them using skills alone. That's the nature of competition. To make sports fairer, as many external/immutable characteristics are removed as practically possible. Applying this into the context of male and female sports, male have natural "talent" when it comes to skeletal muscle output power generation rate and relaxation/recovery rates, bone density, circulatory throughput. This is embedded in genes such as the myosin heavy chain gene. Hormones absolutely cannot change this. Females can compete with males if they work disproportionately harder than their male counterparts, that is the exception not the rule. That does not mean it should become the new norm. To defeat this argument take it to its extremes... Mike Tyson fighting a quadriplegic woman.
@Joshua-gv1ep3 жыл бұрын

So, I was a hockey goalie for 11 years; I did coaching with the girls (who had also played for a very long time and were very skilled), and their shot strength was like a feather pillow. I had SO MUCH TIME to react. It was unreal. With some of the shots they were taking, if it was an equally skilled guy shooter, I'd have gotten smoked, but it rarely happened. Going cross crease was so easy because comparatively they *moved so slow* and their shots and passes were so comparatively weak. In some instances I'd slide TOO FAST for their passes and leaving the opposite side open for a one timer, and had to remind myself I'm playing against girls and adjust accordingly. And I'm a goalie, goalies are at an inherent disadvantage - we play by different rules - it's not easy to catch something moving at 100kph, and the girls were struggling to top 70-80. I felt like I was playing against bantams. Im 34 now, if I could transition over to a girls beer league or jr comp, I would dominate *still* even with my MS

Don't they know that most girls who compete in sports do sports because they want scholarships from universities and its one of the most less expensive ways and you need talent to join. Even some trans athletes are talented, they need to make their own category and not make women's sports more unfair than as to what is. I was an athlete in high school and due to all my activities my muscle mass and body fat were on par with the males. I even produced more testosterone then most of the males. Even now as a consequence I still have more testosterone then my son's. However, I'm still very much female. In both high school and in the Army I held my own amongst my male counterparts. BUT even with the heighten testosterone, and muscles, I will never be at the same level as someone born male who has trained their whole life for specific skills. I can take the average male but never a highly trained one. And as far as the Army and my skill sets, I will never be able to do the job the way a man does it. I may still get it accomplished effectively and efficiently as a man, but in my way not theirs. Women who are the exception are able to take on most men. But men who are the exception will always out preform any biological woman even if she is the exception. It does not matter when he transitions to female. From birth he will always be geneticly disposed to be taller and bigger even before puberty. Boys in sports as young children, the really good ones who you know will go on to play collage or pro, even at 4 or 5 years old, are already much larger then everyone else. Or if they swim they already have that build. So even if they transitioned before puberty, they still already will out preform. I've seen 10 year old male basketball players taller and stronger then grown women. This can't be denied. And needs to be addressed and taken seriously.

Holy shit, who brought this topic up? This is so old. I remember reading about it in some forum around 10 years ago as there was a discussion in the football (for Americans: Soccer) league (Germany). There are regulations in junior teams A, B, C and it is allowed but almost no women are playing. I can't remember the discussion anymore.

When it comes to this conversation, I mostly see people who agree with their points, thankfully. Usually it’s the people that blindly support the Lgb*T*qa+ community that disagree. I don’t think there is anything wrong with supporting them, even if I have my reasonings to how counterproductive it is, I just don’t think that we should be disingenuous while supporting them.

My little boy around age 6 was so in love with spiderman that he even acted like spiderman, pretending to throw webs and even sometimes jump from one chair to another. Guess what, we used it to our advantage at home. Whenever he would refuse to eat his food we would always tell him that by eating more food his chances of growing the spiderman web would increase, and it worked! But what we did not do was take him to the top of a Skyscraper so he can jump like spiderman. Well, he is 13 years old now, and because we did not let him experiment with jumping down from a skyscraper, he is alive, well, and growing strong. Something is wrong, and I blame the parents for not helping their kids with a delusional state get through it naturally, peacefully with love and the RIGHT support. Turning a boy into a girl in my common sense and uneducated mind breaks the very foundation of our existence.

This argument is really stupid, the fact the video was even created. Of course men are gonna easily beat a women, they have more testosterone they build muscle more easily, that’s the entire point of steroids. They don’t need to work as hard to beat a women, a USA women’s soccer team lost to 2 kids under 15.

Yes. Women who train with men are generally stronger cause they have to go up against faster and stronger competition. Women who can hold their own against men are automatically more revered cause they have proved their excellence in skill. It's something to be proud of like a child beating adults in Scrabble or chess. It's a huge achievement. But.. we don't do it cause it's just impossible to win in all categories. It's really tough.
@elcroft98753 жыл бұрын
I’ve often thought the same thing. I boiled it down to the fact that they KNOW they have a big advantage being born male. They don’t want to lose this advantage point blank. Putting on a dress doesn’t remove the genetic advantages of body mass etc….

Agree. Now extend that to larger societal outcomes outside sports to earnings being linked to natural talent and skill in addition to JUST what an individual puts in and don't get in the lefts way when they try to raise the floor of outcomes to blunt some of the unequal distributions of nature. Like universal Healthcare and ubi.

nascar and F1 is actually very hard physically, not only taking G forces but also the driving itself, at those speeds to turn is very hard. I was at the circuit the other day with my own car, going into turns only like 70 km/h and i can tell you after like 4 laps i was really feeling the muscle sore in my whole body, so imagine going 120+ all the time
@Brien8312 жыл бұрын
Well the main reason females are not in f1, is simply the lack of females in motorsport in general. There simply are almost no 8 year old girls driving carts. Its the same reason, as to why there are no female competitors in the chess world champion ship. Not because females arent capable enough, but because the pool, from wich a talent can emerge is way too small.
