It’s because this is an extremely heady mix. If not just reinforced head voice, which is what it sounds like and what Bebe’s and Madonna’s also sound like. They aren’t really chest voice. Idina closes her throat way too much, mainly because she’s extremely chesty and doesn’t mix as low as she should.

knuxfan23 i was thinking that too, Idina's one is probably mask placed HV, literally in one performance she transitioned from HV to hit that Bb5 and sounded like a really throaty HV lol, not sure about bebe's one, that sounded like a Heady mix to me also she hitted a C6 belt so that proves that she can mix up there lol

When it comes to technique it's obviously SoHyang/Amber Riley. However when it comes to my personal preference I'll give studio to JHud/Demi, and live to JHud/Bebe/SoHyang (I'm genuinely shook that Bebe delivered a good Bb5. She's been surprising me lately)

Demi and Ari are the queens of Bb5's and the vocalists of this generation. Those three Bb5's that Ari hit was just incredible. There was NO STRAIN! I actually watched that performance it was Be My Baby in Sunrise Fl, she actually even hit another Bb5 but got a little flat, shouty, and tense on the 4th one but 3 Bb5's with that ease itself is incredible.
