You seem to have a skewed view of the problem here. The idea of feminism? Great. The actual process most extreme feminists go through to get what they want? Fucking awful. Women on Twitter tweeting they have PTSD from fucking social media and blame the patriarchy for everything are the problem here. You get PTSD from seeing your best friends blown to fucking particles in front of you, screaming in agony as they lay in pieces around you. You see the problem here? Most feminists simply don't understand why they are laughed at and mocked. It's because you simply CANNOT take them seriously, because their implementations and crybaby attitude towards everything blur their actual motives. There are plenty of women and men who want real equality. I, for one, am one of them. Feminazis? Fuck no. They want female dominance and nothing more. Don't let them fool you with their facade.

I'm a feminist and this was hilarious!! Love it. And yes, these are misconceptions and radical viewpoints of feminism. True feminism still stands for what it has always stood for; equality between the sexes, and now people of minorities. It's not about female supremacy. And no one can tell me otherwise. Radicals may tarnish the name but I will still support feminism.

Feminism is the belief that men and women should be equal. Any other details of it are tailored by individuals, but basically it means equality.
@sockembopperify
@sockembopperify 9 жыл бұрын
Aleya Pittmon False. Feminism: "the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men." It never states that Men get equal rights to Women, it only states that women get the same rights as men. Egalitarian: "of, relating to, or believing in the principle that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities." You belong to the wrong group, be an Egalitarian. Not a Misandrist.

based on sexist myth like "patriarchy", "wage gap", "rape culture" etc. It's just a misandrist movement, even old school feminists like Christina Hoff Sommers or Camille Paglia acknowledge that. I use the term "Equalist" or "egalitarian" to make clear i'm not sexist like feminists
@aleyapittmon1439
@aleyapittmon1439 9 жыл бұрын
Saiyo Star did you not understand what I said???? Feminism means equality. It is not the same thing as misandry.
@olimpicus
@olimpicus 9 жыл бұрын
Aleya Pittmon did you nor understand what i said? i said current feminism is based on sexist myth. Do you believe in "western patriarchy", "sexist wage gap for the same job/hours" or "rape culture"? then you are a normal feminist, not a feminazi, not an "extremist", current feminism as Hoff Sommers and Paglia say its a misandric movement. Equality for them is based on those sexist myth, they believe "misandry" doesn't exist cause they redefine sexism as "prejuice + power". I think maybe you are confused, i don't think you are really involved in the movement

I don't like the word "feminist" because too many people have claimed to be so, but used the word to belittle men, complain about every little fucking thing, and cry "misogyny" over every man who makes any kind of mistake as a man. If you believe in equality, you believe in equality. Period. As soon as you start putting yourself into categories, you start opening yourself up to contradictions, and the possibility of other people making you look bad because they put themselves into the same category as you, but may go about it completely different.
@serenabobeena
@serenabobeena 10 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what feminism is. Equality. If you believe in equality then, congrats you are now a feminist. Whether you're a woman, man, gay, lesbian, trans, you can & should be a feminist.

@DiverseLA
@DiverseLA 10 жыл бұрын
Serena Luciano I believe in equality and I'm not a feminist. Why? Because modern feminism isn't about equality, but about bashing men, playing the victim, while not recognizing women's privileges over men. Stop telling other people whether they are or aren't a feminist. We identify as what we please.
@muslimmetalman
@muslimmetalman 10 жыл бұрын
DiverseLA I laugh at the idea of equality. This programming runs deep in the KZbin comments, and the words fly through my head. Then I recall the meaning of the word from 2nd grade perhaps," equality", with the meaning I associate it with, is not really sensible or desirable. It's really incomparable with the recent usage, to mean "we want what you have" I think. Female nature is more "take" than "give", simply due to the nature of their reproductive role. Estrogen>
@muslimmetalman
@muslimmetalman 10 жыл бұрын
***** Nobody has rights...Everybody hold a gun up to stay safe. Counterintuitive, but it's how it works. Acute but manageable stress to prevent the ultimate, unmanageable stress. It's why we study, build, train. Females always have issues with this. We've integrated so much we allow it to intertwine with the male imperatives. The energy of men at work always fucks up when we let females in the room. There's always issues with sex, or, more mildly, aptitude/chivalry...Always trying to keep the lady safe. I won't force anything, though. If you can tough like a man, you get your keep. If you aren't up to task, unfortunately life isn't fair, and we won't pretend otherwise. Sorry, work harder or "tits or GTFO" to explain something I've been hearing not that long ago. And as a closure to my first statement...fucking politics.upsetting human relations. Read "Anatomy of the State", then come back to me about politics,

Do you believe in gender equality? Answer the following questions (Yes or No answers): - Should chivalry (rules that only apply to men in order to be classified as a "real man") exist? - Should men be the only gender required to sign up for the Selective Service? - Should only women have the option of whether or not they want to be mothers after conception? - Should only men be expected to propose and pay 100% for the engagment ring when it comes to marriage or lose respect based on societal norms for not doing so? - Should there be quotas that require a certain amount of women in specific professions or positions? - Should women get lighter sentences when they commit the same crimes as men? - Should women be saved first in times of emergency? - Should women be judged on a more lenient set of physical requirements for professions such as law enforcement and the military? If you answered "Yes" to any of those questions, you do not believe in gender equality.

Rurplen No, you are an egalitarian if you believe in gender equality. There are millions of men and women (including Men's Rights Activists) who do not identify with feminists ideals, yet still believe in gender equality. Also, many of feminist beliefs do not correlate with gender equality. For example, male circumcision is legal but female circumcision is completely illegal. Show me a group of feminists who are attempting to change this. Also, women routinely get lighter prison sentences FOR COMMITTING THE SAME CRIME as men. Show me the group of feminists who wish to have this changed. Don't worry, I'll wait.

Okay, this made me laugh. But since everyone else is taking this seriously, I will too. I used to identify as a feminist. THEN I started to notice that most other feminists I interacted with were PC as hell and not really focused on women's rights so much as women's "protections". I think I moved away from the movement right about the time the first Bayonetta came out. EVEN though her character designer was a woman, all I heard was that it was "internalized oppression". I identify as egalitarian now, and judging from many comments here on YT, many other people are making the shift. Frankly, I probably would have seen myself as this first had I known it existed. My point is that in MY opinion, feminism seems to have been hijacked by the kind of whiny bitch represented by the likes of Sarkeesian and Suey Park. I am all for EVERYONE'S PERSONAL RIGHTS. I will not tell you how to live your life. But when a major scientific achievement is largely ignored by feminists in favor of what someone involved was wearing, I believe things have gone too far. This is just like the GamerGate thing. It started off with noble enough goals, and now it's filled with assholes. Feminism, same thing. I dropped the GG identity, I dropped the feminist identity. Just saying, it's not exactly a misconception that lately modern feminists have been downright losing their shit over really trivial things. You want equal pay? I'm all for it. You want to tell a dude he can't wear a shirt featuring mildly sexualized women or tell a WOMAN she can't design hyper-sexual characters because of "patriarchy" and "internalized oppression"? Well suck it up buttercup, because it isn't your call. Here ends my rant. Anyone, funny vid, 8/8

Whenever there is a movement, there will be radicals. So why is everyone so hung up on radical feminists? A radical, by definition is: "having extreme political or social views that are not shared by most people" --in other words, blatantly not in full agreement with the goals/ideals/teachings/etc. of a group. So why don't people believe women who say; "No, I don't support that. I support equality" I mean shit, I scrolled through a lot of comments and have yet to see a woman (who claims she's a feminist) say that they want to be "better than men" But I have seen a lot of men saying that feminists are "stupid fugly sluts who deserve to die" or "men haters" along with a compilation of "haha shutup and go make me a sandwich"(s) Not sure but I think that says something...

Separatist feminism is a form of radical feminism that holds that opposition to patriarchy is best done through focusing EXCLUSIVELY on women and girls. I don't advocate for equality for only women/girls and I'm not some hypocrite feminist, for example, the feminists who don't want women to be included in the draft, even though men have been drafted and will be still if another war happens, which would actually make it equal for both men and women, since they'll both be drafted.

no... any feminist that uses Artemis and then swears they aren't man hating is smirk worthy. If you don't know the story of the poor sod that ran across her while she was bathing... then yeah. Athena is the most gender neutral goddess when it comes to her mythos, just because a deity happens to be a woman doesn't mean she can be used as a 'symbol' for some modernized bullshit movement that spits on the first two waves. If you're going to use a goddess to probably represent modern feminism(who are fronted by 'radfems') I'd say Eris is your best shot... Pitting women against each other while dragging men to settle the issue only to cause a bigger backlash when that settlement doesn't please every woman... Trojan War...

M Rachel Hi! If you look up the core definition of feminism it states that it is for the equality of the sexes. There is no such thing as an equalist. Its really horrible that women (or men) have taken feminism to far, which has given all feminists a bad rep. These women (Or men?) are commonly called feminazi.
@Zinja

Nadia Ericksson I'm sorry but that is not correct, feminism advocates for equal rights of women, not men. Yes, equalist is a wrong term, egalitarian or humanist would be the correct term.
@nadiaericksson
@nadiaericksson 9 жыл бұрын
Zinja Straight from the dictionary egalitarianism noun Egalitarianism is defined as the belief that everyone should have equal economic, political and social rights. feminism noun the principle that women should have political,economic, and social rights equal to those of men. They are two different concepts. Feminism only focuses on women being equal to men while egalitarianism if for equality everyone, specific to races and backgrounds. Though for western society egalitarianism is probably the more useful ideology, it shouldn't discredit feminism which is still important movement but mostly outdated in western culture.
@Zinja
@Zinja 9 жыл бұрын
Nadia Ericksson In India, so many men commit suicide because women file fake rape cases against them, the no. of fake rape cases is on the rising everyday, because educated women take advantage of feminism. This is also one major reason why the no. of rape cases of India is shown so high. Feminism WAS needed, not anymore, women are pretty equal to men in this day and age, probably even have more rights. A simple example, a woman can hit a man, but if a man even practices self defence he is "oppressing women" Feminism is just a movement to make women look like they're victimized all the time, which really isn't the case Yeah, egalitarianism or equality of genders is needed everywhere. "A man is guilty until proven innocent and a women is innocent until proven guilty."

Someone who hates men is not a feminist, someone who wants females to be the dominant gender is not a feminist. Feminism is about wanting the equALITY of men and women. I want to be able to walk down the street and not care about what I'm wearing. I want to stick up for myself without some dumb comment like "Someone's being bitchy" or "On your period today, are you?" And that things like "You ___ like a girl" are demeaning and people are told to "man up" as if being a woman is not good enough. And yes, slut shaming, rape culture, and domestic violence exists. Kyra Chandler From the very definition you brought up, feminists are focusing exclusively on "women's rights", not both women's and men's. Now here's an exercise in intellectual honesty for you: if feminism is our only "official" movement for so-called gender equality while the men's rights movement is actively being silenced by it (see first International Conference on Men's Issues in Detroit), what does that make feminism? 1) A movement for actual gender equality 2) A movement which only attempts to fix half the population's issues while pretending to be for equality

Whether it's Hilary Clinton saying that women are the real victims of war or Andrea Dworkin saying she wants to kill a man and shove a high heel in his mouth like an apple in a pig. Start from the assumption that women are being oppressed by men and everything you say regarding gender is going to have at least a hint of misandry.

It's true that we've come a lot way, but considering that the Olympics that just happened were the first in which women were allowed to compete in at least two sports and we're still not allowed in combat roles in the military, among other examples, it's clear that we're not done yet, and it's not just religions that are sexist. Also, I have no use for religion either, but I have religious friends of both genders who are feminists. And yes, some women are hypocrites and some traditions are sexist against men, and that's not right either.

@phyrestorm999
@phyrestorm999 10 жыл бұрын
Peter Houlihan Yes, it really is confusion, both because of the rather unfortunate word "feminism"--seriously, I'd love to go back in time and tell the originators of the movement to call it something like "equalism"--and because misogynists like to deliberately misrepresent feminists as misandrists. As far as this video goes, it's like if someone made fun of racists by sarcastically implying that the entire black rights movement is made up of Black Panther types, and some dork (like me in this case) didn't realize they were being sarcastic.
@peterhoulihan9766
@peterhoulihan9766 10 жыл бұрын
phyrestorm999 Except that "black rights" has a very specific meaning: Rights for black people. Because of the etymology it can't mean anything else. "Feminism" can be said to mean just about anything, which leaves people in the situation of having to look to actual feminists to decide what it refers to. If misandric feminists were some kind of minority like the black panthers or nation of Islam then it wouldn't matter, but they're not. It's not misrepresentation given that misandry is, and always has been, an unchallenged pillar of the movement.

Stevie Laurence lmao "noticed" and the ones you've "seen". you took one look at their no-makeup face and the sky split open to let an all seeing angel descent towards the ground and whisper in your ear that feminists who don't wear makeup wish they were born men. you figured us out. i know that personally I, and all my feminist friends, sit around and discuss which makeup to wear for the day to let people know irrevocably that we do not indeed wish to be born as a man

this is funny just one question do you tip your fedora when you say m'lady? or do you just do that to your mom because no girl will talk in a 50 foot radius of your arrogant whiny ass

The commentary for this video was hilarious! I loved it. I hope none of you take this seriously, she was just playing up the feminist stereotypes. Feminism is about equality. We don't hate men, we want to be treated equally along side men.

Look, enough with all the Bullshit. Both Genders should be equal. No more, no less. Feminism supports equality for women. If you support women's equality, then essentially you support Feminism as well.

Margarito Colocho That's only if you view the movement in theory, not in practice.
