Hello! It's been a while hasn't it! I hope you all had a good Christmas and that 2020 will be a good one for you. I'm finally back with an update after my Femoral Osteotomy Operation. Sorry it's been so long - as you'll see in the video, things were pretty difficult. My recovery is going very slowly, but I am now back to Weekly Vlogging, so hopefully once this video is up, I can start uploading vlogs again.
I hope you find it interesting to hear how my operation went and how the recovery has been so far. Please feel free to ask any questions you have, and also let me know if there are any videos you would be interested in seeing.

Get well soon , I found anesthesia knocked me for about 3 months. I was only anesthesia for 2 hours for a gynae op. The bear hugger and pca is the best !

Sorry I've been so terrible at replying to comments on my videos the last few months - I'm trying to catch up now so I can then hopefully keep on top of them! Thank you for the get well wishes - they were hugely appreciated. Yeah it took me ages to get over the anaesthetic - I think people often forget that you're not just getting over the surgery, but the anaesthetic as well. Ah yeah I loved the Bear Hugger - could do with one of those at home! And the PCA definitely kept me sane while I was in hospital! xx

I've been diagnosed with FND as an explanation for my periods of paralysis, episodes of loss of speech & inability to walk. I don't get seizures though. There isn't any help or support available in my area for FND but you might have more luck where you are. I hope you're able to talk to someone about what you've been through, it sounds very frightening & I'm not surprised it's affected you mentally. I have a degree of PTSD from my transplant admission. I hope you're gradually on the mend now. I'm always here if you want to 'talk'. Lots of love x P.S. I'm surprised you got your stairlifts fitted so quickly, I thought there was usually a long wait for adaptions like that. Sounds like they're really helpful for you.

Sorry I've been so terrible at replying to comments on my videos the last few months - I'm trying to catch up now so I can then hopefully keep on top of them! Sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with FND and that there isn't any help or support available where you are. I'm still waiting to see a specialist to get some sort of diagnosis, although the people I've seen suspect it's probably FND. Thank you lovely - due to Covid I haven't been able to talk to anyone yet, but it's something I want to speak to my GP about when I can. Sorry to hear you have some PTSD from your transplant admission - it must have been a really scary time. I think we managed to get the stairlifts done so quickly because we paid for them privately (with a grant from something to do with my Dad's work). I'm guessing if we'd had to go through the NHS, it would have taken a lot longer! xx

Hello Jenny I’m a new subscriber . Also I found your Facebook page as well . The first video I saw was your video of Dating with chronic illness which was posted about 2 years ago I think . Bless your heart . I can relate to everything you said and you are very normal and know this , you are lovable . I think you are a bright intelligent attractive young woman. If I may suggest anything . Don’t compare yourself with other people. I think it’s a mistake we allow ourselves to do . Live just one day at a time . Jesus said sufficient for the day is the evil thereof. I’m going to be praying for you that God will intervene in your life and situation. Also , don’t ever lose your sense of humor in life . Listen to music there’s healing properties in music . I like to listen to classical music , sometimes all day long . ❤️😎

Thank you for your kind comments. I totally agree that comparing ourselves to others doesn't help us at all. And yes, sense of humour is so important - trying to see the funny side of things definitely helps to keep me going! Music is great too :)

Hi Jenny! 😊 I was recently told that I need this surgery in the near future. I go in next week to talk with my Orthopedic surgeon about starting the process of setting up the surgery. I also have Gastroparesis and Fibromyalgia amongst other things. Thank you for sharing your experience with all! I was told no weight bearing for 6 weeks? I wonder if each surgeon does things differently? I appreciate your story of the aftermath of your surgery! I hope you are doing better now! Stay smiling hon! 😊

Thank you for your comment! Sorry it's taken me so long to reply - I've been struggling to keep on top of things with my health, but really appreciate you commenting :) Sorry to hear you're going to need a Femoral Osteotomy too. Is that on one or both legs? Yeah I think different surgeons seem to do things differently, as I've seen other people saying they couldn't weight bear for a good few weeks. I was quite surprised when they told me to weight bear straight away - I felt a bit like Bambi and was terrified I'd break my leg again! I'm not sure if it varies depending if you have a rod or a plate (I had a rod). If you have any more questions, please do shout and I'll try my best to answer them. Best of luck with your surgery xx

Hi Heather, Thank you for your comment - sorry it's taken me so long to reply - I've been struggling to get on top of things recently with my health not being great. But I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Sorry to hear you broke your femur and were then having to have the same surgery as it had rotated. I'm glad watching my video was helpful and I hope your surgery and recovery went well xx

Thank you for your comment! So sorry for the late reply - I've been struggling to keep up with everything and manage my health, but I'm catching up slowly! Sorry to hear you have the same problem. Are you scheduled to have surgery for it? Unfortunately I've been having problems with my recovery, so although the bone is growing back together well, the rotation has caused issues with my knee. So I'm currently waiting to hear from my surgeon about what we're going to do

@@JennyCole1988 you are way fine. I am having a derotational osteotomy and a pao in November. I am getting the plate. I also have torsion in my tibias so that may need a correction also. I am sorry that you are not feeling better despite the surgery. Have they looked at your tibias yet? If not, that may be something to ask about.

Hi Jenny, I get this surgery in about a month, why kind of brace did they give you after your surgery? Is it one of the ones that they give the ACL surgery patients? Thank you!!

Sorry for not replying sooner - I’ve been struggling with my health. I really hope your surgery went well and that you’re recovering well. I didn’t get given a brace after my surgery. I had dressings on the wounds, but that was it! It felt a bit strange as I felt like I should have some kind of support on my leg at the beginning! xx

Hi Syed, Thank you for your comment - sorry it's taken me so long to reply - I've been struggling to get on top of things recently with my health not being great. But I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. So unfortunately I've had a few complications after surgery, so I'm probably not the best person to talk to about it! I've had a lot of problems with not being able to bend my knee, which apparently my surgeon has never seen in a patient before. The actual surgery site has healed very well and my hip does seem to be less painful, which is good. Recovery wasn't easy, but I know a lot of other people who have had this done and they are doing so much better since having it. If we can get my knee sorted, them I'm hoping the surgery will have been successful. My rotation in my femur is better now, so fingers crossed if my knee gets sorted I'll be in less pain. Looking at your other comment, I would have to agree though, that I would only recommend the surgery if your leg is causing you a lot of pain/impacting your daily activities. If it isn't, then it's a big procedure to go through, so I personally don't think it's worth it unless the rotation is significantly impacting your life. Hope that helps a bit!
