Mark, you're the best! An absolutely 'professional' review of this great, all-time classic amp. I wish there were more of your kind of wholesome, unbiased reviews out there. I own the '57 Deluxe myself, and yes, you're right, its an absolutely amazing little unit, amazing in its simplicity, and amazing in its complexity. Many thanx.

I have the first reissue of this amp with the Celestion Blue speaker, and for both clean and overdrive tone, it just can't be bettered. I've had the reissue bassman, twin and bandmaster and the '57 just delivers at reasonable volumes. With both volumes and tone cranked, the tone is bliss.

I disagree with what Mark said about having to mic this in a club setting. This amp is PLENTY loud to get over any drummer. In fact, it's the loudest 12 watt amp I've ever heard. I gig with it regularly with no problems.
@jacquesd57815 жыл бұрын
Headroom though? How hard do you need to push it, and does it stay relatively clean? I have an opportunity to get one through a trade (the 2007 rare '57 Limited Edition) but I'm worried about the lack of headroom... Thanks.

Great amp! I want it! It could be the amp for all occasions espesially with it`s great tone spectre from very warm and smooth to bright and punchy. As I undarstand this combo is rather versatile. I have a quastion: does this amp take distorsion, heavy-drive or another hi-gain pedals (not a light overdrive)?

NICE PLAYING as always, I've tried so many amp brands but nothing comes close to a fender imo, the only amp I like massively outside of fender is the Marshall plexi, but I got my amp tech too alter one of my two blonde bass man heads, this was a common thing back in the 60s as Townsend modded one of his bassmans, so it's not bad it's good, and I don't care about the die hard a opinions as those Amps are mine till I die so it means I get them how I want, yes I do own a 50 watt plexi also but the baseman I didn't add quite as much gain so it's different

Not on this one particular, but I have jumped the channels on blackface and tweed fender amps many times and I believe the knobs still correspond to the channels and you have the overall volume boost.

Great playing, just think all of the fender ri's have a sub-par sound. Very piercing highs, not very natural. I have a 75 vibro champ sounds much better than any new ri amp, in my opinion at least. Not to mention for a fraction of the price, and handwired in the USA!

First you need a 59 Tweed Deluxe, actually you need about 20 of them and one might sound right, Neil has about 20 and only one gets that sound, then take out the 6V6 tubes, use 6L6 tubes and rebias, and put a fan on it so it doesn't overheat, turn it all the way up, then you also need pickups like he has and a signal chain that starts with a Fender reverb unit and includes Echoplex and lots of other goodies, and he has special cables too, no wireless.

WTF?! No chords with the OCD??? You need chords to know if the amp can handle the OCD. Why is it so hard to find good amp demos and reviews. It`s always someone wanking the guitar while they should just be playing a major G or E open chords all the time.
