This is the best Telecaster I have played and I have had a lot USA Telecasters. The built of my guitar is tops. The neck fits like a glove to the body and finish is also top.This guitar can handle anything. If you want better then you will have to spend a lot of money on perhaps a CS Tele and the possibilty excists you won't do better anyway. For this kind of money? Grab one now you still can...just a hint. They can keep the price lower because you get a bag instead of a case with all the fancy stuff. Who cares about a case. I play guitar not a case.

I bought mine back in 2017. Of all the electric guitars I've owned it remains my go to solid favorite. I play it through a tiny blackstar "fly" amp and it just works so well. Most folks laugh at that tiny little amp until they hear what this guitar can produce through it. I think it speaks volumes of the quality of the American Special telecaster. Most highly recommended.

My favorite series, I have one. I love the American Tele/Strat this is great money wise. Texas special pickups are awesome. I run a repair shop, I put in a 4way, Emerson paper and oil cap, and Emerson pro pots...it's my standard upgrade & opened it up with the more vintage vibe I like with those so nice to overdrive pickups. It's my main axe I use in my band...awesome videos

They're not "Custom Shop Texas Specials" but a production pickup Fender called "Texas Special" The pickups in the American Special pickups have rubber wire leads and the bridge pickup has flat pole pieces. The "Custom Shop Texas Special" has cloth wax dipped wire leads and has a staggered pole piece bridge. Fender should have re-named the American Special pickups something else being they're not the same. Very misleading

I'm not a country music fan, and have long associated Telecasters with that genre. However I am seeing more and more how versatile and organic they are. Wonderful guitars. I am planning to get one of these American Specials. I have long loved high gain metal but my ear is growing more to pure vintage sound and away from saturated gain. I have a combination of high quality Marshall tube amps to go with my Gibson Les Paul and Strat, and they sound incredible. Time to add a Tele to the mix :-)

I recently compared the Tele AmSpecial to the AmStandard and greatly preferred the pickups on the Special. Hot pickups just seem to inspire my playing. The Standard's seemed lifeless in comparasion. Also, played a Squire Vibe with the Alnico 3 which are also pretty hot. They are pretty good, but the Special's have a more complex character (more musical). Don't be afraid of the jumbo frets on the Special either. They are not much taller than your standard fret, just a bit wider. I've played tall jumbos on a Carvin and hated them, so I was much relieved that Fender's jumbos were not nearly so extreme. The Special neck plays real smooth.
@FredC196811 жыл бұрын
I agree. The other thing I really prefer on the American Special Telecaster is it has a traditional body shape with no belly cut. To me it fells like an early '60s Telecaster with better frets. As soon as I get my tax refund, I'm getting one of these.

I did not love the Special Stratocaster; however, I love how this Telecaster sounds in this video. I find that it just fits the Telecaster. It is hot and twangy at the same time. It also has a beautiful clean sound. I think I prefer this Special to the American Standard Tele, and I prefer the American Standard Stratocaster to the American Special Stratocaster. I know the American Standard has more expensive everything, but I just like how those tight wound pickups sound on the Telecaster. I am not saying it is better than the Standard, but I am saying I prefer it.
@hobahtac8 жыл бұрын
Your comment is right in line with my first impressions having bought one a few days ago. It was my first high-end electric having learned on a shitty old used squire strat. I was going for a hot twangy old school sound but have to admit I was surprised how different it sounds. I play mostly country but like to grind metal for fun and there's nothing there at least with my shitty amp and the loose string play on the jumbo pickups is like an acoustic. But - when I occasionally play it like you're supposed to it's fucking gorgeous - I love this guitar.
@AnthonyJarrah8 жыл бұрын
Matthew Pettersen I agree. I have a Special Stratocaster which I love but I got rid of the Texas Special Pickups as they were offensive and not musical at all. actually they were the worst Strat pickups I've ever heard. But these Texas Special Pickups on the Tele sound right. They seem to fit the instrument.
@domagojzagorac61866 жыл бұрын
I say exactly the same stuff when fender introduce Texas special pickups. For tele fantastic, for strat not!! SRV has vinage sounding pickups, not hot pickups..

this is probably your best demo yet. playing a really coherent musical piece is the way to sell an instrument, and you've done it. by the way, how dramatic is the difference between this and a telecaster with ordinary medium jumbo frets?
