How does this compare with the GIbson-owned Valley Arts Brent Mason signature version that was around a few years ago? Also, is he no longer a PRS artist?
@jerrysolonsmith84714 жыл бұрын
I haven't played this new fender version.... But I have played the valley arts.... And I've played Brent's itself..... Valley arts in my opinion wasn't for me. Neck felt chunky and too modern shaped. Brent's is a 67 slab..... with all the short comings (some would say desired shortcomings,lol) that 7.25 radii have. There's definitely magic to the real one. I believe Brent's also has metal inserts on the neck screws for reliability when traveling and taking the neck off often. I wonder if that changes the tone to any audible degree.

Appreciate your review..... But mason tone is grittier than described (in a warm/pleasing way)..... Some compression and an rc booster plugged into a deluxe (or a twin with everything on 5) would get this axe closer to how Brent actually uses his.

Springs straight back into position once you release the tension of your guitar strap. The adjustment allows you to limit the amount the note will raise eg you can set it at one tone or one and-a-half tones. Once you have used them for a few hours you will probably not got back to a normal tele 🙂

@studmuffin12123 жыл бұрын
You can't "unstack" the bridge pickup. Not sure where you got that info, but you're not correct. The Duncan vintage stack is a four conductor pickup, so splitting it is potentially an option, but not one built into the Brent Mason telecaster.

@@johnbohlinger Ha, glad it's not just me then.
