An incredibly descriptive explanation. It is both simple and detailed.

I just learned a bunch about my Champion 20. It does have a surprisingly awesome sound for the size.

I found it too tinny sounding. I kept mine for travel, and purchased the Champion 100, not for volume but for a warmer sound if that makes sense to some.

@@wannabegeek519 So you kept the 20, purchased the 100, then bought the 40? There's this bug going around, you buy one Fender, you gotta buy 'em all. 🤣

I play with one sitting on top of an Ampeg G-410 and I wear the sound is coming out of the Ampeg. Of course, I'm a rank amateur, losing my hearing, so take it for what it's worth! lol Bottom line, I love this amp and I have two.

I have Marshall MG15CD Should I sell it for Fender Champion 20?
@ozmobozo10 ай бұрын
I personally prefer the champ but if you're happy with it there is nothing wrong with marshall mg series so it's up to you really. To me champ's built in effects are much better. And both amps have nice but different clean sounds. When it comes to overdrive, champ is a bit clearer but you can push the mg a bit more. If you don't use the built in effects I can easily recommend the orange crush 20 as well. Don't let the looks deceive you Orange amps are beasts. And they have the best speaker compared to mg and champ.

@@ozmobozo Thanks for the comment, I decide to go with Fender and very content with it, since I was trying to get the classic fender tone with my strat and it fits perfectly, something that my marshall can't do on clean tone but I still love the warm overdrive tone on it as well, like you said it's really about preference.

@@viko6467 Because since it has only one distorted channel I don't know if it fits the pedals
@ozmobozo10 ай бұрын
It's not a distorted channel, if you push it gets distorted. The "voice" knob changes the model the amp runs so there is different cleans and dirty sounds. You can keep the amp clean and run your pedals through the clean sound. Fender Champion amps have quite good clean sounds so building your distortion over it should sound quite nice. The misconception comes from 40 having the option to have a separate clean channel. So in short, 20 has cleans and dirties but you have to manually dial, 40 has a clean and a dirty channel which you can choose. Hope this helps and if you have further questions ask away.

I am running a pedal board hooked up to my 20. You can get some mean sounds with pedals way beyond the amps built-in effects. Turn off effects and use the tweed or blackface voice.
