Sorry, guys.. I meant to say in the demo that I'm going through our Chinese Vox AC15 - it's our 'go to' recording amp as it does so many things so well. No effects - just amp reverb and some amp tremolo on the rhythm track. Thanks for the nice comments - really nice guitars and a joy to play. Sooooo versatile!

Interesting. I actually prefer the noiseless pups to the Texas specials on the American special. What really did it for me between those 2 was I much preferred the frets on the roadhouse. The jumbo ones are way too clunky, it just feels odd to play.

absolutely beautiful guitars, i own the Nashville tele deluxe myself, and one thing i gotta say is that i MUCH prefer it with that BEAUUUUTIFUL pau ferro fret board! which is a later addition and also the one i have, especially because pau ferro is often so much lighter so mine is an absolutely gorgeous slightly flames autumn orangery brown super warm color with bright orange stripes and lovely deep walnut accents mixed in, which imho works SO much better with that walnut skunk stripe and the fiesta red! i'm telling ya, I'll NEVER regret buying this thing, its one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen and it plays and sounds LIKE A DREAM! shes my absolute soulmate

I have one in fiesta red. I love mine as well. It's a fantastic blues rock axe.. My Pau Ferro is pretty but it's got a weird white spot in it that I can't get to darken and match. It's by the nut and pisses me off. I'm trying to not buy another neck for it because I love the way it plays.

Excellent demo. I've got that exact tele, and it's great. Was pleasantly surprised at how good the noiseless pickups sound, and the playability is superb. I also have an incredible nocaster, but this nashville tele still gets a lot of playing time. No 60 cycle hum and 2&4 position strat tones... I'll take it. Great gigging guitar for sure.

Love Teles. Have about 10. However, they should all have forearm contours, IMO. Play for awhile and the pressure at the edge contact point actually can cause some forearm numbness. Just my 2 cents...but it's my money.
@jimmypaulgaard36444 жыл бұрын
I agree with you completely. Arm contour is a dream. I won’t buy one that isn’t. I have the Ritchie Kotzen tele that has a small arm contour but a super deep belly cut, a parallel universe Nashville tele and the parallel universe Strat/tele that both have a massive arm contour. It’s the only way to go comfort wise.

I really appreciate your great demo. The tonal qualities of each guitar were very well displayed by playing the same passage using the different pickup positions. Whereas far too many demos seem to feature the guitarist - yours lets the guitar shine! Very well done, sir. I agree that the missing bridge/neck pickup sound missing on the Tele is an oversight on Fender's part. I'm sure there is a pretty easy fix to enable this extra sound. The Tele in Daphne Blue is my choice at the moment - but the amazing versatility of the Strat might be too much to ignore. Or I could get both!

I wonder why they didn't put the belly-cut on the Tele? After all, it's got a lot of other modern touches. Do Tele owners still prefer the sharp edged slab of a body rather than a comfortable belly cutout?

Nice demo ... I like the Fender Deluxe Nashville telecaster ... I am thinking of buying this guitar, but I would reverse the chrome panel, and put the selector switch to the rear, so I do not hit it while strumming. If you're handy with a soldering iron you could try this simple mod on the Nashville Telecaster: Swap the leads on the 5-way selector switch for the bridge and middle pickups. You'd lose the neck-middle pickup combination, but you'd gain the neck-bridge pickup combination that Telecasters are known for. I've actually done this mod on my Strat style guitars because I love the neck-bridge Tele sound, and its worked out great for me. Just my two cents. Great video BTW, thanks for posting.

@EnterJustice4 жыл бұрын
@@devyntavares3562 As he says, swap the wires. Requires no push pull. The push pull is a bit more work but gives you 7 tones (instead of losing 1 in favor of another one).

I have this very Telecaster. I always swap the pickups on my guitars, but this one is good enough that I'm leaving it stock. The fretboard radius alone makes me neglect my 9.5 radius strat. To anyone on the fence... get it.
@RRW2767 жыл бұрын
While I am and always have been accustomed to 9.5, the compound 12 w/ the new frets feel fantastic! There's more string to grab (for me) it feels, and still gives the advantages of having vintage frets and med-jumbo. Hard to describe, but these frets would be my exact preference. I wish they kept with the vintage 6 screw trem as opposed to the fulcrum. That's just me. The fulcrum does feel nice when using, but like the overall feel, sound, playability (& stability) of the 6 screw trem. Now, if we could only get Fender to give us a production model faded fiesta red strat w/ a rw board, that would be awesome.

Great demo Nev, shame you can't get the classic middle position sound on the Telecaster - that's why I bought mine!
@jimmyparris98928 жыл бұрын
I wonder why they couldn't just put a push pull knob or toggle switch to take out the middle pickup and run neck and bridge together. That would probably cost $5 too much.
@jamesgrobertson80248 жыл бұрын
+Jimmy Parris Agreed, it would be a much better all rounder if they did this. To my ears it's a telecaster that sounds like a strat.
@christianboddum87838 жыл бұрын
They should have used a double wafer switch with an option to choose bridge/neck or mid pickup via push/pull knob, it's an easy thing to do. I just made a Strat with a tele bridge pu. and a superswitch to get the bridge/neck combo and it's wonderful.

I have the 2015 Nashville Tele and the solution I'm going for to rectify what I see as an oversight on Fender's part is to install the James Burton switching. It's advantageous in that it has the s1 options. With s1 engaged position 2 puts bridge and middle in series, 3 is middle only like a Strat, 4 puts middle and neck in series. With s1 disengaged middle position is classic bridge and neck. IMO all Nashvilles should include these switching options.

I like them both. I'm thinking if I bought both I could sell my other electrics. Cover about any sound that I want between the pair and go buy a new truck. Wonder full, I already own the tele, same color. Never tried the strat but was extremely happy with the tele. I don't really lean one way or the other as far as music. I like all of it. that's why I bought the tele. So I didn't have to take any other guitars to a club gig. Leave the babies at home so they don't get hurt.

I bought this guitar and modified it with a toggle switch between the volume and tone controls to give me back the combination of the neck and bridge pickups. I also gained the unique sound of all three pickups combined so the guitar has gone from very versatile to extremely versatile. I love it. I also changed the 1meg pots that were in it with 250k pots. I don't know why Fender put I meg pots in the guitar, it made it extremely bright. I am very happy with the guitar now. The things I don't like is that the head stock and fret board are satin finish and not gloss which makes the neck look less than high quality. I know for some they like it that way but I prefer satin ONLY on the back of the neck. Also I hate the colors. With all the different colors Fender could use they chose three of the most hideous colors. I have the cream color and it is more like a beige than cream but it was the only color with the all maple neck. And the last thing is that I had an awful issue with static on the pick guard so I shielded the guitar cavity and pick guard with copper shielding and it was much better. But I am still have a problem that after playing for about 40 minutes the static builds up again. I am going to have to take it apart again and troubleshoot it. For some reason the static is not making it to ground.
@jefflazenby39336 жыл бұрын
+Peter Lashomb I have the tele as well and am planning on doing the same mod. I was considering changing the pickups but I suspect that the pots are the problem. In your opinion, does going down to the 250k pots do enough to warrant keeping the noiseless pups? The neck and middle are ok, but the bridge is unpleasant to my ears. I am considering the sd quarter pound but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks, Jeff
@davidkastin42405 жыл бұрын
I've had the static problem on a bunch of new guitars. I solve it with gently rubbing a dryer sheet over the pickguard a bunch of times then wipe the pickguard down with a microfiber cloth to collect left over residue. You may have to repeat this a few times when needed. It works well

@MiguelGebremedhin8 жыл бұрын
Not really... You can get a twang on any wood. I've played both maple and rose and the difference is almost inaudible.
@blacksnow1506 жыл бұрын
no ,, as the sound produced by the string has 2 pionts of contact the brige sadles and the frett wire ,, no wood is in contact with the string so you could use cork or iron wood and other than how it feels to your fingers it will not affect the tone sustain or anything else
