Lots of nice tricks of the trade. I have been repairing old amps as a hobby since 2015 or so, always more to learn. Thanks for sharing. That amp sounds great!!!

Nice Job!! Cool trick with the alcohol. In one of my former lives, I had to pick chips of cadmium plated iron off of the magnets in the d'arsonval movements inside ARC HSIs (Cessna) without breaking the pivots off the coil or destroying the hairspring. Those things would grow iron whiskers. I miss the old steam gauge instrument panels. You could fix that stuff, but you had to have a certain level of finesse to do that. Nice to see that demonstrated here.

It does my heart good just to hear "d'arsonval movements". How have you been Pat? I hope all is going well for you and your extended family. I don't miss work as much as I miss working with people like you.

The amp sounds fantastic. What is your signal chain? Thanks

The beginning part is a boss chorus with a digital boss delay set to slap back. The second distorted part is an arc effects klone v2 set for boost with hardly any overdrive, with the same slap back. Hope that helps.

Do you have to bring the amp up slowly with a VariAC after replacing the 3 16mf 450v capacitors? Thanks!

It is my policy to slowly bring the amp up after any major repair. The reason for that is to make sure the bias on the tubes is good and to make sure there is no large current draw. The same thing can be achieved with a dim bulb tester. I think it also helps the caps burn in.
