Hi my Friend ! Thank you so much for enjoying us with this final Fender Jaguar restoration. I know how you feel with the historical background of this beauty and that explains how you've been so cautious on any detail (the way to install the neck to the body, replacing the worn out tuners, etc...) The final result makes me speechless, you've done such an amazing, fine and accurate work ! See you next video, take care !

Awesome backstory, this guitar rightfully found its way back to you - to have new life restored to it. Silly sidenote, I love how you dulled/"buffered" the masking tape on the fabric before applying it to the guitar. Both experience as well as genius :-) all of your pro tips throughout this series are greatly appreciated. I'm building an offset guitar now and will apply pressure to the next/body like you recommended. Thank you again for this endearing series 🙏🏻💖👏🏻

Seating the neck in the pocket. The right way to do this is to string the guitar up to pitch. Then loosen the neck bolts a bit till you hear the “Thunk”. That’s when you know it’s pulled full in. Then retighten the neck bolts. That’s how they do it in the factory. The neck pocket. Why didn’t you flatten out the neck pocket? Then you could use a full contact shim. Stewart MacDonald makes them at different angles so you can get it perfect.
@petrekguitars3 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot for your question. I didn't straighten the neck pocket surface because it's a vintage Instrument and al the color is original. If this wasn't the case I would for sure making it flat to get a better contact.I have made the experience that I can apply more pressure by pushing the neck in the body, that's why I am doing it that way. But the other option also work very good. Best Regards Nik

Fantastic restoration, looks amazing and very true to the original. I am sure it will be cherished for another 60 years. Also some nice home made tools, particularly like the home made depth stop. Questions; I see some luthiers widen out the fret slot with a v file to make it easier to insert and potentially remove frets, is there a reason you don’t do that? Also did you roll the fingerboard edges to make it feel more played in when you levelled the frets? Finally, on a separate note, I think you could make a fortune doing audio books, maybe recording some of the Grimm fairy tales!
@petrekguitars4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind comment Paul. I have make the experience that when the fret slots are cut to the optimal size ( therefore I measure it precisely and make some fretting tests) there is no need to widen the slot with a file. No I don't roll the end of the frets...There are several reasons why I don't do this. One of them is that I appreciate and love the line of a perfect edge. If you are working very accurately you creat a perfect line and the s its in my opinion the proof of a good craftsman. There is nothing more satisfying than a straight line... If you roll the edges, sure it's more comfortable but the line looses its perfection...looks always a bit goofy. And to the last point ...Thanks a lot make I am working on it... just plan a Podcast with a friend of mine about Guitar Nerd Stuff:-) Best Regards Nik

I binge watched the full 5 episodes. I admire how meticulous you are. The result is amazing. Just one question: why didn’t you remove the blue cover in the truss rod? Historically they had no cover
@petrekguitars3 ай бұрын
Thank you son much for your interest in my work Dani. Yes they have covered the Truss rod in some waxed Paper. You can see this in one of my Videos I think in Part 2 or 3. I haven't remove the blue coating because it protects the rod from the Glue and also from the Glue Humanity. If you watch carefully the part were I remove the old Truss Rod you can recognize that the old one is very corroded. Best Regards Nik
