Love my Player Series Jazz! I’m a firm believer that the Player Series is the best bang for your buck out there.

Absolutely great value! I could also see how someone values the more classic aesthetic of the Vintera.. but you can't go wrong with a Players! Thanks for watching - Anthony

Great piece of playing Anthony! Not too much to choose between the two basses. Only real thing about the player series I don't like are cheap white pick guards.

I posted this already. A great comparison video gives underlying information about the specs, how they relate to the sound, the feel and the playability and eventually the value. I cannot judge on sound when I don't hear my personal amp and playing, not through computer speakers. So no a comparison video should NOT be about the sound, sound should be only a small part of it, especially when comparing instruments of the same family.

Great playing and demo. Before hearing what you said, I preferred the bridge pup on the player bass and the the tone of the vintnera wide open. I greatly prefer the looks of the burst finish on the player series. That would be my choice of the two.

How about a shootout between the 60th Anniversary Road Worn Jazz and the Flea Jazz? Battle of the dual concentric knob jazz basses! Side note for the Flea Jazz, I don't see that you guys have a review of it on the channel.

Great video (and nice playing) as always. Would it be possible to mix in (more of) the DI signal of the basses? I don't you how you guys record, but I guess it is mike only. I would like to hear more of the basses than just what comes out of the Rumble. May give the listeners a better impression of how they sound. Thanks.
@EmpireMusicPgh3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback Bert - We A/B'd both signals (and a blend of the two) a while back, and we actually preferred the Mic signal. We always revisit things though, and if we find the direct signal is better, we'll use it. It is also was a good representation of the bass in a room. The Rumbles, while not expensive are actually quite clean and transparent I find (I'm actually gigging the Rumble 500 head). Thanks so much for watching and commenting - Anthony

You should do a player series vs CV series jazz and precision. I want a p bass and can’t decide between a fender player or squire CV 60s.

One thing you should have mentioned is the Vintera is really old school; you don't have access to the truss rod without unbolting the neck like it was in the 60s. To me that's a red flag.

thank you for the video. do you notice a quality difference in the wood used in both models? Especially in bodies. Or is there a difference just in pickups and hardware?

Not really in the wood, but the finishes are different. Pickups and hardware are more vintage-inspired, and that certainly makes a sound/feel difference. Thanks for watching - Anthony

I’ve had a few jazz basses in my career as a musician but a jazz bass always kinda sounded boring to me. In the mix with other instruments it can be a good sound but playing a jazz without instruments… it doesn’t do it for me…
