Fender Malibu 2022 electro acoustic demo and review

Crikey, not only do these look good but they're stuffed full of high end goodies. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck and a walnut fingerboard. All topped off with a lovely Fishman electric gizmo.

Been waiting for this one! Always fascinated me, when I was a complete non player, how acoustics could have an electronic option. Even now, as a beginner in these things, I don't fully get it. Love the tuner thing on the back though. And some culture creeping into the proceedings, via Tocatta & Fugue in D Minor! Well played sir.

Hi Jaime, nice to hear from you :-) I was talking to my cousin last night who used to work for the Beat and he was telling me that he was around at the time when Fine Young Cannibals were signed up to London Records as, of course, were Marion. As for the guitar, it's a lovely little instrument and I'll be honest here, it was the colour that did it for me! Cheers :-)

@@FoxysGuitarShow Wow! Small world indeed. I loved "The Beat" it was a great TV show. We played quite a few times in 1994-5. Live gigs at the London Astoria (no longer there) and interviews with Gary Crowley in a nightclub called "Raw" for our first "Rough Trade" single before we signed to London records. Put any lighter strings on it and it will sound more a bag of nails then it does now, I think Fender only dabble in the acoustic market to nick a few sales off the cheap starter brands, I've sold thousands of them because a Fender logo on the headstock implies a famous brand, but it serves no more credibility than buying an BMW pair of sun glasses.

hahahahaha, Hi Michael :-) In a similar vein, I've often wondered how many people that wear Ferrari T-Shirts actually own a Ferrari. I agree that they rely on the brand name but it doesn't half look nice and the wood choices are undeniable. Cheers :-)

Had one of these for about a week or two and sold it... meh. Prefer my Squier Acoustic.

Hi Mr Whitesnake :-) The Squier acoustics are great guitars. My favourite acoustic is an electric. I use a Line 6 Variax for acoustic sounds. Horses for courses, I guess. Cheers :-)
