The Mustang Micro was a gift to my wife. Sweetwater had it to me in 2 days. I've only had it about 1 week and this little Fender keeps finding ways to blow me away. Get nice wired headphones instead of ear buds. To me with headphones, the sound is more enveloping.

Hello, I'm considering buying one, but I can't find specific information about it, and maybe you can help me. How long does it take to fully charge the battery? Thank you in advance for an answer.

@@THEdeadsinger First thing out of the box, put it on a charger. It took 30 minutes until the light became solid green. Since then, it only takes 15 to 20 minutes to get a full charge. I really love being able to crank it up without pissing everybody off!

@@THEdeadsinger The battery lasts so long I selsom think about charging. I use the unit a lot and charge for 30-90 minutts while doing something else. Other times I leave it charging over night. Not sure exactly how long it requires. Can look into it.

Very well done video and great playing as well! I got one of these as a promotional gift since I work for a Fender dealer. I didn’t use it much at first, but I use it all the time now- it’s a great travel companion and works exceptionally well for practicing along to songs via Bluetooth.

Sounds good, Logan. Of course it is nothing like a nice Deluxe Reverb. But as a practice tool and travel companion it is just genious. The USB C cable is a great added feature so you can even record with it. Thanks for commenting.

When I purchased the Mustang Micro it stopped working in my Ibanez after a day of light use. I thought it was the micro and fender sent me a new one but it wasn’t the components failing. The micro unit swivels around its jack which consequently can loosen the barrel jacket housing shorting the solder connections of your guitar. My jack housing seemed tight but I opened the back and watched it slightly turn when I put the micro in and turned it. When I put a regular guitar chord in it seemed to stay put. So my extra caution is make sure your barrel jack housing is tight without play or buy a soldering iron.

Nice vid. For recording you could use the Studio Pre-amp setting, to give a nice clean tone. The pre-amp works with bass/ semi acoustic too. Yup worth every penny I'd say.

You didnt explain how amps and effects are selected. I can see there are toggle switches but how do you know what has been selected?

The lights change colours based on the models. There is a model/colour chart in the included quick start guide 👍🏻👍🏻

Great video review, thank you. This looks like a fun tool/toy but since I really don't need to use headphones, I'm just wondering if I can pug this directly into my windows pc to listen through my external speakers? I like the idea of not having to mess with my amp and all my pedals from time to time. Would I need anything else for this to work via my pc? Thank you.

Hi Mike. The micro has USB C so you can connect it straight into your PC and select it as an audio input. I’ve done it on my Mac, but my work PC doesn’t have USB C, so haven’ tried that yet. Thanks for watching.

@@stiansyltaguitar It would be really nice to have this comparison specially because Micro is out of stock at the moment and probably won't be available in the following month or two. Micro has some obvious benefits like volume button and controls on itself, but Mighty Plug has an app which probably allows much easier control even though you need to mess with the phone in that case. It would be really nice if Micro worked with Fender Tone application, then it would be definitely the winner but at the moment I would say both Micro and Mighty Plug have pros and cons and it is not that easy to claim who is the winner. This is why it would be nice to have a realistic comparison.

Actually, the USB for recording to the PC, is a godsend for people who don't have audiocard or audio interface, I can plug it in my PC's USB and get a crystal clean sound. If I plug 3.5 - 3.5 to my Audio IN, the quality would be terrible.

I picked one up and it buzzes almost everytime I strum. I thought it was my guitar but my lt25 mustang doesn't buzz whatsoever. I was really looking forward to this since I practice alot on my headphones.

Hey. This is weird, I´ve had no buzz with my unit. If I use the hi gain models my pickups are producing some noise, but probably less than my amps. Did you contact fender? Might be a faulty unit?

@@stiansyltaguitar I am going to contact Fender soon. But I’ve read on multiple forums that other people are also getting the hissing/ buzzing sound just like me. It seems some people experience this heavy noise gate effect while others don’t. It’s really sad because it’s extremely annoying and almost makes using it unenjoyable.

Mustang micro. Can you Bluetooth the audio from the guitar straight to a Bluetooth speaker? Instead of using the 3.5mm cable connection

No. It does not support bt out, only in for backing music. The latency Of bluetooth is at least 100ms. That`s horrible to Play to.

Hey Eduard. The unit had a sleep mode. It powers down if there is no signal for over 15 minutes.

Sorry for replying so late. You need to split the headphone cable in two and send one into the android phone, the other into you headset.

Thanks for your review! Sounds pretty awesome :) So I guess instead of headphones you can hook it up with a speaker as well? My bluetooth headphone has no jack...and I understand the bluetooth only works with a smartphone/tablet, but not with headphones/speaker - something to improve for the next model maybe? One thing tho, it's a shame: it is another 'Made in china' product. My money doesn't go to anything Made in china. I hope the next run will be a Non made in china one. Then I will rush to my local music store to grab one!

You can connect it to anything with a mini jack. But if you are gonna be rocking it into a speaker, make sure you have a looooong cable :) A made in the USA model would be cool, but probably double the price. Thanks for watching and commenting :)

Hey Louis. I just split the minijack and sent the second cable directly into my Sony ZV-1 camera :)

Does it have a battery level indicator?

Yes. The power indicator LED flashes green when the unit has good battery levels, Yellow for les than half battery, and red when it’s almost empty. Chatting via USB-C works great. And U can use it as an audio interface while charging.

You Get the smallest Mustang Amp for around 150 nowadays. But it’s new tech and that drives prices,. And I suspect pricing it too low might make it come off like a toy. And it certainly is no toy. :)

@@stiansyltaguitar Stian, the Mustang Micro is definitely designed for right-handers. Placement of controls, volume knob, usb port, headphone jack and how the guitar plug articulates are all biased with only right-handers in mind. Like I asked, try it in a left-handed Strat, Tele, Les Paul or SG yet? The geniuses at Fender forgot about lefties on this one. Hoping for an ambi or lefty version soon. What's more, Fender doesn't even acknowledge this shortcoming with a disclaimer in their product promos.

Hey. I think that depends on the amp model and your pickups. I think it sounds great with a Strat, but not the same with my Les Paul.. Maybe they only made it to work well with Fender guitars :p
