Love the Andy Timmons bit at the end. I assume that was on the Mesa Boogie?
@Harrysound5 жыл бұрын
Yes Mesa Boogie Lonestar with a 2x12 Mesa Cabinet and a BB Pre Drive pedal. Also the 4Dot 8 Dot delay. It's actually an Axe FX I use. Since I did this Video I have actually put a Dimarzio Crusier pickup in the neck position and a PRS Tremonti in the bridge. It's amazing at doing '59 pickup style tones with more spank but also doing the fender thing with the Tremonti split with the middle. Of course with the Tremonti in the bridge is does metal really really well now too.
@ZombieDoggs5 жыл бұрын
@@Harrysound Crusier sounds interesting. I assume it's giving a bit more power to match up with the bridge humbucker? But is it changing the character of that classic strat kneck pickup sound?

Dave Roberts absolutely. The neck pickup sounds much more like a Seymour Duncan 59 with the cruiser . The guitar is really badly balanced in terms of volume output between all 3 pickups but it’s so versitle now

Nice demo, what are the first 2 songs that you played? Hendrix stuff maybe?
@Harrysound3 жыл бұрын
First clean thing is a song I’m working on called Violet, the second is a riff from an Andy Timmons song called Electric Gypsy, 3rd thing is a random improv, the 4th thing is just random improv and a riff I wrote but that has no home, the outro song is Andy Timmons - Acension. Basically I bought this guitar entirely to mod it into a jack of all trades guitar. I’ve changed a lot on it to make it really scream and cream. I really should do that video....

Adrian Amorado it’s a good guitar. I don’t know what your style is but I’m into a wide spectrum of tones. This definitely leans towards the more classic or bluesy. I’ve replaced all of the electronics and pickups, input jack etc just this week. I might do a video soon on it. The tuners aren’t very good in my opinion so I’ll replace them soon too. Not a fan of the bridge for heavier music style riffing so I’ll also replace that in time. The fret ends also need filing down because they are a little sharp/noticeable. I bought it as a solid base to mod into a super strat and so far it’s turning out pretty great.

Sounds phenomenal...here's the problem; this guitar is being put thru a Mesa Boogie,( or modeling amp, as I see several amps mentioned) with fantastic effects, perfect tones, and in the hands of a fantastic guitar player. I buy it, get it home, and then its ME playing it , thru my gear......and it doesn't sound nearly as "phenomenal". They probably could have given this dude a $189 Fender Squire to play thru this gear and it would have sounded amazing. Nice video, but in the end, not very helpful.

Modern tremolo. Not vintage tremolo.

@@Harrysound oh no! Two point trem is the new one.
@Harrysound5 жыл бұрын
Silviu Stefan so they made it worse then lol
@Dailyvids255 жыл бұрын
@@Harrysound the funny thing is that this is even worse. It is made to float better an wiggle easier. But being easier to wiggle it is also much easier for a bend or anything you do when you play to destabilize everything. Restringing with a floating trem like this and tuning....forget about it!
@Harrysound5 жыл бұрын
Silviu Stefan the design floor is that there’s a lot of tension pushed towards the neck on the two points. So when the bridge reaches a certain point over absolute centre a disproportionate amount of pull is put on the bridge making the bend very erratic. If the pivot point was more centralised then it might not suck as much. I do plan on getting a Wilkinson WVP bridge at some point. Just because it’ll have modern saddles and the wrap around the saddles which is nice for laying your palm over....you know like a ‘normal’ bridge.
