@ernestochang17449 жыл бұрын
The purpose they serve is to maintain sound evenness across the strings, for example both E and G strings have a tendency to be louder then the other strings, with the A or the D string being the quiet ones, you roll down the magnets of the E and G strings while bringing up the magnets of the A and D string, some Vintage 1960's basses and american standards from 2008 had a Raised A string pole to match the same volume of the E,D,G strings, hope this helped (seymur duncan makes P bass pickups with Raised A poles with their antiquity series)

JOIN this channel, people! Join this man in a most wonderful & amazingly informative, hilariously inventive program series on You Tube. I am NOT affiliated with KZbin or any other process here. I just believe in this guy! I have been around the horn in KZbin for the information that we want for setting up our guitars, and, YES, there are others that give good info, BUT you are NOT going to get what Dave has to provide. Especially in his "every guy" persona that is the hallmark of this man! I live in Northern California, so I have never had a chance to meet this amazing human, but I would LOVE to only have the privilege of living next door to him! What a blast THAT would be! Enjoy Dave! Let him speak the TRUTH, as he sees it! I just recently bought a Fender Tele, and have religiously "set up" my axe JUST the way Dave said to do, and it has NEVER sounded better, especially out of the box! Can't go wrong, here, with Dave's World of Fun Stuff! It's a wonderful & fun place to be, all you jammers out there! Live it!!

Could be the actual coil wire has broken at the 'eyelet'. The fact that you get that unconnected hum would suggest the one for the 'hot' output wire. The white one in this case? If you're lucky it's the outer end of the coil and you can unwrap one turn to get enough to fit back in the hole and re-solder. Less lucky and you have an eyesight testing job of soldering a fine wire to a tiny stump of coil wire and then soldering that into the eyelet. If it's the inner wind and it;s broken under/inside the coil you're shit out of luck. I've had at least a half dozen of these kind of breaks in the last 12 months. Weirdly all on the neck pickups of Strats and Teles. All fixable except the one that came from under the coil with no wire to grab for an end to solder to.

Re-watching, and now I have to add: BEWARE of CONTACT CLEANER if you have a NITRO finish. Any overspray, or excess liquid that touches a nitro finish will send ir straight to hell. I just did that to my mates Fender Tele (Highway whatsit), and the area around the metal control strip is buggered right up the dark passage. Just letting you know!

Those clip-on tuners are so bad on bass - especially in a band, in my experience. Every time I've used one at a jam session or rehearsal or what have you, I would have to ask the drummer and guitarist to stop playing while I'm tuning because for some reason (probably physics, ha!) the clip-on would be even less responsive when there was noise happening around it. I guess they're okay for home use, but still super flimsy.
@weibernipple9 жыл бұрын
Hate clip on tuners, just don't like the look. Same for scrunchies, socks, diapers, etc. the only thing that should be stuck up there is a lit cigarette.:)/
