Magnificent Seven is a great song to test this out (and I liked your use of Fly Away as well). Clearly the Seymour Duncans are a much more modern and aggressive sound (which I prefer). Nice job on the video

Excellent demo. I have the US Adam Clayton sig Jazz Bass and just traded my Switch Lite for a couple pups, one of which is this SJB. I was hesitant to mod a MIA model, but not anymore. I even JUST got that T21 preamp, as well. It is most excellent. Thank you!

Hey; great vid; I prefer the SD‘s Im thinking about changing my pu‘s on my jazz bass. The Sjb 2 have more mids I think, which Iam looking for, but is their output as hot as the output of the Sjb 3‘s? Thank you:)
@OliverTobyn3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I haven't tried the SJB2, just the SPB2, the Precision Bass ones. In that case they ad a bit less output than the 3s but more than the 1s

Oliver help! I've been using my Duncan's Designed wired in series for 6 months (thwy absolutely kill) I just drop this quarterpound jazz bass pickups wired in parallel (classic jazz wiring) on my VM Squier and the sound I get from them is practically the same. They don't sound as punchy as in your video. Tried different eqs and nothing... Am I missing something? 🤔
@OliverTobyn3 жыл бұрын
Mh could it be the strings? I'm using Rotosound 66 Swing Bass 45-105 strings here. They might be less punchy if you're using older nickel plated strings

@@OliverTobyn well... Yeah... Earnie ball powerslinky. I don't like them at all. I bought them just because they were the only ones available at the moment and it was an emergency. I have to say that I tried install the SJB-3 and solder them myself but I suck at it. I think I'll go to my local luthier to install new pots an change all the wiring (maybe a push/pull series parallel switch as well) and change the strings to DR Hi-Beams. Always wanted to try those

Ciao, ti ringrazio! Sono gli stock del Geddy Lee, credo di averlo scritto in descrizione, dopo controllo!
@richardmarks89903 жыл бұрын
Did you stick with the stock 250k pots or upgrade to 500ks? I've got my heart set on some SJB-3s for my Jazz, but I'm not sure which pots to run. I put 500ks on the stock P/Us, and it pretty much ruined it.

You aren't the only one. Unless you get specific pickups, Jazz have an inherent scoop when both pickups are on. Some say it's because the two pickups cancel out things between themselves like 60 cycle hum, I'd argue that the position of the pickups do this too.
