I recently bought mine like 2 days ago and it’s honestly so good! I haven’t gigged with it yet but I really wanted to cut back on lugging my Mesa Triple Rec and Orange 2x12. I plan on buying the FR-12 to compliment it. Great video!

This thing sounds great and is really coming along. I remember when it first released there was a fair bit of criticism about how the models reacted with third party IRs, something to do with speaker impedance curves and that made it “less accurate” and more difficult to tweak. Has that been resolved yet?

Seriously considering picking one up I never use my amps anymore, Im always using Amplitube which is good, in studio, or my Boss core which is ok, but kind of has that “katana” feel to it.. And Im old big screens and easy menus are definitely a plus. Is there a “auto tune pitch correction” on the vocal chain for live use? I like the Knaggs (sp?) thats sexy. Thanks for your time and effort with these vids man!
@davewalden3001Ай бұрын
Steve, if someone was to start today, would you recommend the TMP/FR10 or the Helix/Powercab Plus? I am just a bedroom player who likes simplicity and not a lot of tweaking. I really love the Fender "edge of breakup" tone, and have really considered just getting a tube amp instead - but I like the idea of modeling setups like the TMP/Helix. I typically will play at low volume too

Yeah I brought the TMP to the high school I work at and it's converted pretty much every kid from their dream amp - definitely a sign of the times. Any songs they need to play for recitals are now perfectly tuned in, if there's two guitarists or a bassist - we can run two seperate lines on the TMP. Our recital nights sound fkn wicked now

Fender please release a smaller version of this similar in size to the new Headrush model. I bought the Fender Mustang Micro Plus and it is the best thing I’ve bought for guitar in years.

the virtual capo is built to work with chords and has lower latency than the pedal shifter. the pedal shifter is simply a model of the old whammys

Ok, I am really impressed! When this was first released and I tried one out, I thought it was bland & just too large of a paper weight for the price. Now I would definitely have to admit that it's certainly jumped by leaps and bounds. The sounds seem to pretty crisp & very clean! I wonder if Fender will have a smaller version like the Helix or Tonex kind of things. I'm pretty impressed!

Would be nice to show a double row of amps and effects instead of the single that you have to scroll back and forth to see whats hiding outside of the screens view left and right. Wouldn't consider this until that's fixed.

So…this or Stomp XL, or something else? Honest opinion without someone pushing something? Getting that on KZbin is tough. Whether it is not wanting to piss off the company…or miss sales. I think I am looking for a video comparing all and trying to crap on them all. That way I know it would be honest. (Not literally crap on them….or maybe there is a market for that?) If you had the choice to have one, which would it be?

Check out my video on the workflow of the helix vs TMP. I currently use HX XL onnmy touring board, but I am supplementing onna board with a built in wireless, OD pedal and my fav di box. So for my set up, hx is best. It comes down to which situation works best for you. They will ALL sound as good as you can make them sound

Im trying to figure it out too. I bought a TMP but returned it for the Helix. I only play at home, learning as well. I have no idea what to get to make it simple for me as far as interface. I mainly play metal, 80s/00s rock and roll. I didn’t want that “fender” sound at first. I’m stuck between Kemper stage, FM9, QC, TMP and Helix.

For me, it all depends on what you’re trying to do. A lot of people like having things to play with, there’s nothing wrong with that!
