Great video, on an impulse I sold my kemper stage and picked up the TMP three months ago. And finally have come to the conclusion that this thing needs BIG updates to get it to the level of other modelers. Selling mine and grabbing a FM9, might re-visit in a year or so. Keep up the great work!!!!!

Thanks for commenting. I think there's a lot of promise with this unit as well but I think companies should start releasing units that have less bugs and are more completed

I give them well deserved credit, the Stealth model’s “base tone” seems to be much more authentic to reality now. I do agree the mic and cab simulations seem a bit off but it’s nothing that can’t be worked around with some imagination lol. But they could definitely work on that stuff, I agree.

Listen with your ears not your eyes! Is so true when it comes to this product, I’ve been dialing in tones for months with frustration until I let go of where settings should be and just listened to what sounds best The unfortunate part of these comparison videos is other guys will say this is where it “should” sound good because other devices do whereas one mic placement change would have it sounding fantastic All the tones are there just in unintuitive places Fender have certainly not done themselves any favors

Am i correct in saying that in the TMP you are using two 4x12 cabs and in your studio you are using a 2x12 cab? If so, then it makes total sense why the TMP has way more low end and thicker sounding. Maybe I am missing something? Great video ! AND.....after you made the adjustments in the TMP, it actually sounded better to me than the real cab :). The bottom line to me, if you spend a few minutes to tweak the TMP it sounds amazing and so close to the real amps.

Agree with cab issues but also Agree it sounds much better now and absolutely competitive to the other modelers

Great playing as always.....i do like the TMP . The look. The gapless. Etc....my take still is its competing still with units that are much better in same price range. Gapless is actually available at $600 for a boss GX 100 which also sounds better. And tons more effects. Thanks for the demo....TMP be a great unit for $500

Thank you for making this video!!!! Great playing!!!! I am going to be buying the fender tonemaster Pro because it seems to be the easiest to use. Otherwise I would probably buy the FM 9 but it seems pretty difficult . I have a question for you .. if you was only going to be playing this thing in your Jam room only...no gigging and no recording.. just for your own pleasure, going by which sounds the best... regardless of the cost... would you use a tube Power Amp into regular amp cabinet.. or something like a frfr headrush 112....or a bose pa system?..ect... you are surrounded by these great amplifiers so I really value your opinion on tone!! Thanks

My pleasure. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Honestly, just get a good pair of studio monitors, and you will be all set. You get stereo sound, and you also get a true sound. In my experience, FRFR cabs aren't really as good as studio monitors. I've tried many of them, and studio monitors always sound better. I highly recommend the Kali audio Studio monitors. They are amazing. You can't beat the quality for that price. I have three pair of them and they are awesome.

Are the effects on the same level as line 6? If so I would buy it a put my tonex or synergy syn 2 in the loop until the tmp is on par. Because I really like the IO and spacing/layout of the buttons.

What's your thoughts on the impulse response curve being placed in the wrong block? question: How do other modeling company's account for the impedance curve if they don't know what cabinet the IR is simulating? Just trying to think how this problem occurred on the tmp vs. How its avoided on other units that do the same thing (kemper, line 6, quad cortex)
@TONEWARSgearshow9 ай бұрын
Good question, I really have no idea what the correct answer is. I just think that in general, this product was completely rushed

@TONEWARSgearshow I've been trying to make it work for 6 months, coming from a Mesa 100w triple crown and 2x12. I've finally got metal tones I like with the bogren IRs, but I wanna figure out if the IRs are being utilized correctly 🤔

I don't know much about these modular units I've only used amps and cabs...can you use it through an amp and cab and get the tones???
@JamesFlorio-ti8gc9 ай бұрын
Yes into a return....Helix experience only so far.....since soo many in Helix sound almost identical with a pedal baby, Seymour Duncan power Stage etc into two cabs in stereo will make you wish you never spent thousands on amps I am not joking. All these units weaknesses are the cabs n IRs . A great IR though can also change it honestly. But once you put these through real cabs especially in stereo you get blown away by the wall of sound you never had before. Also that under the fingers feel is also there just like your tube amps 👍🏻

Thank you I might be interested in these then...I hear a lot of amazing tones from so many videos..I only have a PRS MT15 but love it and a diezel micro...it's not bad with sd1...I'd love to be able to afford several others but if I can get those tones and use my amp and cab...I'd be happy I don't care about using my computer and daw and audio interface and shit...too much
@JamesFlorio-ti8gc9 ай бұрын
@@dalejacksonmo the MT15 is also a amazing amp I love those.. .. just like with your amp though once you go down the pedal rabbit hole n find out how much they all cost lol I could have a helix floor in stereo with cabs for around $10,000 less lol love amps but the day of amps are almost a past time . Especially when someone spilled beer on a $3,600 soldano lol

How about running the Tone Master Pro into the Fx Return of the real Stealth amp and your Mesa cab to eliminate the cab differences and allow you to concentrate on the preamp tones of the two? I don’t know if the TMP allows you to disable power amp modeling or not but if so, that would be helpful in just isolating the preamp tone and both would then use the power amp of the real amp and the Mesa.

I don't think you can do a very accurate comparison when your cab is a 2x12 in your room compared to a 4x12 in their room. I have shot IRs of my cabs in a big open rehearsal room and then used the identical gear and settings in a small room in my house. Night and day difference! I wonder if Fender used a really dark sounding room to make those IRs?
@TONEWARSgearshow9 ай бұрын
Hey man, I'm just doing the best I can with what I have, I'm not going to go spend $1500 on a 4 / 12 cab so I can do this experiment. A vintage 30 is a vintage 30 no matter what speaker cabinet it's in. As I stated in the video, I wasn't looking for perfection, I was looking for something that was close.

@@2550marshall No worries at all, I'm just used to every time I do a comparison, there's always a group of people that want to tell me how I did it wrong or I wasn't scientific enough about it and it gets me a little frustrated sometimes to be honest. It's funny, sometimes people expect me to spend thousands of dollars so I can do something that they think is more to their liking but they don't even support my channel at all...they just come here for the free content and NEVER contribute anything except unwanted (and often wrong) critiques. Its really frustrating 😫 I.put a TON of effort into my videos (more than most) and to some people, it's never enough. But I'll see tham fanboy all over some basic bitch channel with a shi/y player who half-asses his content. SMH. I bet nobody else did this update video the way I did (comparing the TMP and real Stealth) oh well, again, no worries. And I agree, comments, including mine , are easily misunderstood sometimes.
