I love Tom DeLonge and Blink-182. That looks like a fun build. Those Invader pickups are a ton of money, but this one you got in the kit sounds pretty damn close to me! Would be fun if you brought your build to the guitar store to compare to the real deal signature Fender Strat. Plug both in and see how they stack up! I also love that Sean totally sprayed his hand and didn’t even care, lol. I know he always wears PPE on his face, but no gloves?! Hope you had some paint thinner on hand . . . unless you’re going for the Blue Man Group look in teal, lol. 😂😂😂 Also, great idea to use a Buttermilk cup from Hardee’s to make the headstock shape. Don’t you dare use a little plastic cup from anywhere else, folks! Only Hardee’s! I’d love to see you make a matching Tom Delonge Starcaster too! That would be fun if you can find a kit for that. This is exactly why I don't shell out money for a signature guitar. It makes no sense when you can get a kit like this. People like to pay for the logo on the headstock. I'm guilty of it myself. What it comes down to is playability and there are plenty of cheaper guitars that fit the bill. Great video!

I have a Tom Delonge Strat copy and it plays incredible. The funny thing is that it's so close to the real thing that I have to tell folks that it's a fake. On another note (no pun intended), That pickup sounds REALLY good clean (love the break up on the clean channel). great job yall!!

I bought 2 of those kits with Amazon points, paid like $80 for both combined. I did a surf green and graffiti yellow one. With paint, clear, and my own choice of strings I had like $60 each in them. Sold the "surf green" (actually some kind of Rustoleum light blue) I still have the yellow one, planning on modding it up a little. Its totally worth putting some money into.

Only thing he showed was with thousands of dollars in tools and a bunch of labor you can have a low quality sea foam green guitar. There are plenty of sea foam green guitars out there for fair prices.

Exactly why I built the Hendrix Woodstock white strat. 93 body, 07 neck, Ventura 50s fat singles, tele S1 mod, maple cap maple neck, spaghetti logo on big headstock. Set the trem up like Jeff Beck video. Also sanded the neck down and took off finish on back of neck. It's a killer guitar, easily as nice as my American professional. I am going to get some of your pickups to throw into my black strat

Yo, I don't get why people think a signature guitar is worth so much. It's not like the artist played it or signed it or anything. I dig that body, though. It doesn't have a trem system, but it does have the string-through, which I prefer to a hard tail.

Nice little project! I would suggest using a pore-filler on that guitar body before spraying it. Also, several applications of clearcoat would greatly improve the overall finish on that guitar. From 10' away though, finish looks great!

Just built mine. I went with candy pink with silver sparkels and i went with a matching headstock. I used a measuring scoop with a handle to draw my headstock template. Wasnt trying to make it exact Femder lol

Btw, forgot to say something in my first post. A lot of men think women are boneheads and can’t fix anything. Lots of women are professional car mechanics and there are even women who work as pro guitar techs and luthiers who are extremely talented and capable. As one of the gals (and the OG gal of Scarred Nation), I really enjoy seeing Cathy work on building and fixing the guitars sometimes too. Our regulars know that Cathy is a powerhouse with pickups, but showing her help repair and build guitars might teach the trolls out there that us girls are just as capable of not more so. We can learn to do anything the boys can do and can often learn to do it better (and don’t dare challenge that statement or you’ll get kabonked by both me AND Cathy! 🏏💫💥😵‍💫🤯). That said, as a content suggestion, would be fun to occasionally have Cathy do her own full builds and repairs - it would cool to see what she already knows and show how quickly us girls can learn to fix/build new things. Thanks for repping us females and doing us proud, Cathy! We ❤ you!

You're right about the over pricing by Fender of the artist models. The chapest artist Strat is close to 1200 while you can buy a player series for 600. There's absolutely no justification for the doubling og the price. Most of the artist guitars have nothing special about them with the exception of the twp Brad Paisely models which have specialized bodies and of course the Brent Mason model but these are way over priced also. They should be about 700 and 1000 respectively instead of 1500 and 2500. I have the Paisely Esquire and guess what. The neck is a littl over 1 mm narrower at the heal. Doesn't sound like much but the bottom string has a nasty habbit of slipping off the neck.....I have a standard Tele neck that I'm going to put on the guitar but I shouldn't have to be doing this kind of crap......
