Wow. Big job. Much bigger than the 996. Getting the frame straight is step one. Then welding on the body panels. Once you get past that then it’s the 996 project. But steps one a two are big steps. Should be interesting.

Delete the wing and towers, just go with ducktail style similar to a GT touring. Also if changing head unit and installing rear camera make sure to do it NOW while Bose Sub and passenger B/C pillars ar disassembled, otherwise routing through the rear grommet to the bumper via tail light will be exceptionally hard! Good luck.

Surprised to see Bob Woodman deliver the car! He ran a Porsche repair shop for years in Beaufort, SC. Although he probably wasn't the owner, it is somewhat surprising he or Andrew didn't do the repairs and sell for the owner. Hopefully that doesn't mean there is more damage than it looks. @@matt13ross my take on car condition is that if the owner felt the car was not in good shape to rebuild, then he wouldn’t of troubled with all the replacement parts and the costs associated with it. It is a big time consuming project.

Hoping you keep the stock color scheme. Get a temporary storage pod (Porsche Parts Pod) for your parts, you can return it after the build. Segregate stuff by type or section. It should help you organize the rebuild process and keep progress occurring without driving yourself crazy! Really interested to see how you attack this. You can do it!

Just a suggestion, rent one of those moving boxes they deliver to your driveway to storage the parts. By a whack of totes labelling the parts and totes are easy to stack. By cheap vertical shelving stands to best use the storage space. Worth the $$.

Definitely need a bigger shop! A few comments down somebody said "Please don't change the format, they love the fact your working put of a tiny ass garage." Easy for him to say sitting at home kicked back watching this fella work his ass off bumping into things, knocking things over and losing tools and parts under other tools and parts. Yes 997 the sweet spot of all 911! It's a mess but I LOVE the red Taracotta color. I also love the fact that you are going to bring it back to its original glory. Please get rid of that ugly roll bar. You did a phenomenal job on the 996 Turbo and looking forward to this 997 Turbo build!

Wow, this will make for some great content and more vicarious living for me. My first take would be to make it a track capable street machine and maximize selling off the extra parts to recoup costs. For example, keeping the track seats and selling the hardback sports, etc. IOW, just get it running, street legal and presentable but not to the level of your 996tt. Minimize the the gap between what you spend and what it will be worth.
