Thank you for being here and your question. it is a very good question. There are simple answer and detail answer. Simple answer is when the A Yao or the bottom yao changed, it always changes to the opposite group. For example, Kun gua (West group) the bottom changes, it becomes Zhen Gua (East group). Then when all the yao changes, it remains in the same group. such as Qian gua, all three Yao changed, it becomes Kun Qua. The Qian and Kun are both West group guas. hope this help.
