About a year ago, next to a trail in the woods, I found a headlamp. It was not a complete lamp, only the main aluminum section with the two LEDs. The strap and the battery section were missing, and the cables were cut. I still liked the build quality and decided to keep it. I found this video when checking the model number, the quality and the price point blew my mind. After soldering on new cables, and attaching them to an old 4AA head lamp I had lying around, the lamp powered on with no issues. I can't express how happy I was for bringing this lamp back to life, thanks for the video!

I really like the ability to use the double A batteries also. Not only can you charge but what if the solar panels are not working because of low sunlight? Love it.

I really like some of the features of this headlamp, but I have an HM65R that I carry in my wheelchair kit, and have been very happy with the combination of flood and spot at the same time. functionally, there are a lot of similarities to this and my headlamp, Fenix really does a great job making their lights cover the needs of the user. having the very low, long run time modes are great for up close, but the huge throw and spread combo makes it safe to run my chair over the really messed up terrain of the streets of where I live ( I did a video specifically showing how the "sidewalks" around me are, with the HM65R)

Other Than Intended Purpose - Thanks for sharing that. I have in recent years mostly used Olights, especially when they offered neutral white, but I did just get the Fenix HM65R-T. So far I really like it, especially the neutral white flood. I often use a headlamp to finish mowing my yard if I am running late. Sometimes I also mount a flashlight onto the mower handle with an OLIGHT FB-1 Universal Flashlight Bike Mount. I have not yet tried an actual bicycle light because the mount is already there and there is that part about running late. LOL. Anyway, in that regard, have you considered mounting a bicycle light to your wheelchair. You could be as bright as a car. :-) This link is for a combo, but I would at least look at the taillight portion - 180 lumens of red to help keep you safer. I had already gotten my daughter an earlier Olight/Magicshine collaboration so I'll probably skip the headlight, but plan on getting the taillight for her bicycle. www.olightstore.com/rn-3500-rn-180-tl.html I'll look for your video. Thanks Tim for your video.

@@donaldstrader7241 I have the Olight red tail light mounted to the back of my chair already. I use the flashing mode, and have actually had cars skid to a stop when they come around a corner too fast and see the light in the cross walk. I tried a couple different lights mounted to the chair it's self, but the roads, and sidewalks around me, when they actually exist, suck so bad it bounces around, and eventually bounces clean off the chair. the headlamp keeps me safe, so if it aint broke, I wont fix it. I am glad you are enjoying that headlamp. I really like that it lets me run hands free.

@@OtherThanIntendedPurpose Headlamps are great! Glad you have the tail light. It sounds like it has really helped too. I actually saw someone that mentioned having that tail light, perhaps it was your post....I blame my scattered mind on age. LOL. The Olight SeeMe 30 red tail light that I gave my daughter and I have is 30 lumens and seems bright. The one they will have on sale Thursday is up to180 lumens and has some other cool features! If the tail light post was you I imagine your already know.

I would have loved having this light during my cave exploring days in college! In the late 70’s, there sure wasn’t anything like this !😱

Does this headlamp maintain 1300 lumens on spot as you describe for 4 hours “Without Stepping Down” during that period?

Great headlamp, I am a big Fenix fan, Olight and Fenix for me. I am waiting for the HM65R-T as soon as they redesign the strap to a larger size. I like the 1500 lumens and having the battery and light right up front, no wires to deal with. Thanks for the review!

Seriously check out the shadow master fenix . Great settings, and a red lumens of 150. That's a lot of lumens for red.

Could you please tell me your opinion on which flashlight is the best Fenix HP30R or this one? Thanks
@Mr.Thermistor72282 жыл бұрын
Hp30r is a massive light compared to this. That thing is in a category of super heavy duty lights and doesn’t even really compare to this lol I guess it does because they both have the light in front with the battery pack in the back but everything about the 30r is bigger and brighter and will last longer. For most people they would think that light is completely overkill but for some they need an extremely overkill for certain situations and would love the 30r it just all depends what you think you will need it for

400 lumens for 8 hours is not possible with a 200 lpw led
@dennisgarber Жыл бұрын
Looks too floody. If you use a headlamp as a worklight, jumping from 1 meter to 2, and need 1000 lumens, you need 4000 candela, like the hp12 in 2011. 3000 candela works. This is especially important when trying to inspect and work inside in the day with light adjusted eyes. The 400 lumen setting would work, except only a flashlight virgin buys a 183 lumen per watt led can get 400 lumens from a 10 wh source, as at best 2 watts, might put out 383 lumens at 28C. 700 MA from 3000 = 3000 / 700 = 4.2 hours. Even if it stepped down to 80 percent, we might get 5 hours. Geeze this is 8th grade math! I can confirm that Fenix lied about the high mode of the hr30 light, which gets 1/2 the runtime on the high as on the spec sheet and chart. The actual runtime matches the math.
