This light is all hotspot. It has like no spill. Marshall, any plans on making a review on the Fenix PD40? I'm dying for you to make a video review of that light. I have been aching for a compact 1 x 26650 MT-G2 light. I wonder if Fenix would think about making a rechargeable PD40. That would be a pretty awesome light.

Great advantage to recharge . Also to monitor battery life . Carrying spare cells on a hiking trip not as good as recharging off your solar or power pack .

I am planning to purchase a UC 35 V2.0. Have a quick question. I have heard when using Cr123A's you don't get the maximum output of lumens. For example the maximum for uc35 V2.0 which is a 1000 lumens can't be attained with cr123a batteries, is that true?

Did i read that right? IPX-8? With a rubber flip cover over the charge-port? i would think submersion would flood that port and short the thing out.

***** Wow...with the cover open even. IPX6 is plenty for 99% of users, but to go that extra mile and make it IPX8. i know i've never submerged any of my lights (especially the more pricy ones) but to know that i can, if i need to (or don't need or intend to, but it happens anyway) is a good feature.

There is a video on KZbin of someone putting one of these through a washing machine with the cover open and the light turned on. It's still shining at the end.

Can ut free stand? Or does the bottom button interfere?

Great review Marshall, thank you! I'm really liking more and more great flashlight coming with a micro usb built in chargers. I have the P25 and the built in charger does make it alot more easier to charge.

Will the UC35 light work with the head of the UC35 2.0 and still give the 1000 lumens ?

I hate recharageability built into flashlights. I mean buying a Nitecore charger is a lot more versatile because you can charge all sorts of batteries, and batteries of flashlights that don't have a recharge system built in. Also these recharge systems add length and some weight. And I am pretty sure they don't charge batteries nearly as fast. Also many reduce the waterproof abilities. I hope manufacturers don't stop making non rechargeable flashlights.

this is a tool. I partially agree with you. But every tool has its proper use and I find many appropriate uses for this light.

Lmao... a 2-4 battery charging bay for a 120v outlet is a lot heavier than a fast charging usb cord, block and mini usb port.. but for home use a bay is really nice! Buy more batteries! it may keep you out of a dark and dangerous situation! Street lights aren't everywhere you know!
