It's a prolonged state of stress, marked by high amounts of adrenaline and activation of fight or flight, supression of activity in the prefrontal cortex (decision making part of the brain). There are regular periods of withdrawal which put high amounts of stress on the regulation systems of the body (blood pressure, temperature regulation, immunie system) .It's absolute chaos on the body, mind and soul.

I was using Fentanyl for the last 4 years of my addiction. as of the 1st of the month I have 20 months of Sobriety. I had No hope of getting clean. I had resigned my self that I was going to Die a Junkie. But I grabbed onto a Moment of Clarity and reached out for Help. Recovery is a Lot of Work, but not even close to the amount of work Active Addiction is and was. Whenever I listen to fellow Addicts on this channel, I pray they can find the Peace of Mind that leads them to long term Sobriety.

Accepting his anger issues and trying to fix them make me think he will get cleaned up. He has tons of potential for sure, he’s so knowledgeable, his vocabulary says it all. I hope he gets cleaned up soon. Not all fathers think of being their for their children in an emotional way.

You CAN do the withdrawals John. I did withdrawals from an opiate and it’s horrible and scary but you just have to keep telling yourself that it’s only temporary. One minute at a time. One step in front of the other… you CAN do this. Those children need you in their life 💕💕
@suchabadkitty1293
@suchabadkitty1293 2 жыл бұрын
Nope. Long term addicts often have PAWS. That ish can last YEARS. This is why opioids have the highest recidivism rates. And for those who have other health issues? It can be very dangerous. We now know that people CAN die from withdrawals.

I'm a very empathetic person which makes hearing these stories extra tough. They also make me so very grateful for the life I have and the chances I've been given in my life. I am grateful to those who are so vulnerable to share their stories with the world, with all their pain and flaws. Life can be so incredibly unfair and so fragile. My heart goes out to him. He's obviously very intelligent and maybe with a little luck and determination, he can heal from all the trauma, and provide stability and love for his own children. It's also sad to think that his trauma could get passed down to his children, if they themselves end up orphans. Don't give up hope.

Oh, my...Mark, this video perfectly illustrates how addicts can come from all walks of life - poor, rich, professionals, flipping burgers at Mickey D's. I think this video touched me the most, from all the videos that you've made that profiles addicts. I'm an opiate addict. This is definitely not the future that I ever would have foreseen, nor would anyone else. I graduated high school, valedictorian & summa cum laude, 3 months after I turned 16. I had a Governor's Scholarship that provided a "free ride" to any college in my state (Kentucky). My 1st year of college, my mental and physical health issues began to surface, and I dropped out of college. I've languished since then. The only thing that I've been kinda successful at is being a mom, but I've had a lot of help from my parents, who have allowed my kids and I to live with them. I live in a small town, but I've managed to keep my addiction a secret from the world at large, but I'm sure ppl wonder why I didn't live up to my potential. I'm 40 now and my kids, 17 & 21, are the only reason I keep on pushin'. I'm just tired.

Wow. Graduated at 16 & then college for (1) year?!!! Impressive. I'm curious but do you remember who or what instance first introduced you to drugs? ____ ? I asked my Mom & she shocked me with telling me it was my aunt, when my Mom was a teenager. So pissed. My Mom also didn't admit her drug use until 2017, when I darn well knew she's been an addict for the last 20 years. I know her better then the back of my hand. Duh. Nar-anon helped tho.

@@Deelifull it's nobody's fault for introducing, people can make their own decisions. I'm an alcoholic and an opioid addict, I don't blame a soul besides my self and my inability to cope with the world.

This is going to make me sober. I have the best life in the world and cant stop abusing drugs and have been searching for anything grasping at straws trying to stay sober. I love my family much more than myself. What this man as been through hurts me deeply and I have recently started speaking with God again and the "You Always Have To Stay On Good Terms With Everyone" is now the mantra that I will repeat over and over to stay off drugs. So John if you read this with all of the tragedy you have been through please know that you Saved/Changed the life of this 45 year old man and his family. If you ever want to reach out you can I surely don't know how to comfort you but I can tell you the difference you have made and me and maybe it could help you maybe not. -Jon

We all have choices to make and some choices we make lead down a path that only holds us back or can bring darkness in our lives. Today I made a bad decision to indulge in my addiction after I stopped for three months. I ended up putting toxins in my body and still suffering a terrible headache. I actually wanted to get more but luckily I had a friend who stayed on the phone with me and reminded me to not get sucked back into the lifestyle. This man has coping strategies…mines was remembering all the chaos it brought into my life…but I barely had self control. Definitely want to remember today to avoid this happening again…dare to walk away.

Your story reminds me of Job; he lost everything, he told God it would've been better if he had never been born. Job stood in faith; God blessed him 10 fold. I believe your life will turn around, all your trials are rainbows in the end. When you go through your pain, as you process every event in your life, allowing yourself to heal, forgiving yourself, allowing your soul to grieve all the losses you've experienced, there will be an abundance of blessings, you will have more than you ever imagined. Allow yourself to heal, give yourself permission to feel your emotions, process all you have inside, don't bury it. One day at a time. I'm sorry for your pain. I can't say I know what you have been through, I can only relate to the pain of losing a parent. Everyday is a new day for you , a clean slate, you get to choose what type of day you will have. You're not your addiction. You're you and only you know how to get where you want to be. I hope for the best for you and your daughter. T/1
