@@Wow_wow1 - As a doctor who works with addicts, I find it offensive that you would choose those words. Especially in the comments section of a video that is designed to show you the face of addiction, and humanize it. YOU may not agree with saving the lives of people who are in the throes of addiction, and/or an overdose, but every one of them is someone’s child….someone’s parent, someone’s sibling, someone’s best friend. They have a purpose, they need & deserve help. This isn’t something they chose, it’s something that happened while they were trying to escape physical, emotional, or psychological pain. I don’t condone the ways in which they get money to pay for it, but at some point, it’s not about getting high, it’s about not getting sick. The detox process is awful. It can be expensive and next to impossible for them to find help, and that’s what needs to change. The fact that you can watch a video of a 16 year old girl overdosing, in her parents home, and say that you don’t agree with saving her life is disgusting, frankly. I have patients who were prescribed pain meds after surgery, and became addicted, construction workers who were prescribed pain pills to continue working with a back injury, and became addicted, 15 year olds, 57 year olds, patients who live in multimillion dollars homes, and patients who live under a freeway overpass. They’re are talented, smart, intuitive, and kind people whose lives spiraled out of control while they weren’t paying attention. They deserve help. The deserve kindness. They deserve a chance to live again. What they don’t deserve is people like you.

I did his wash and found cut off straws. I would not let it pass. Put 2 and 2 together and FINALLY he admitted his problem with Xanax and Percocet. Except Gayle. They were laced with fentanyl. He went thru 3 days of withdrawal at my house and still would not tell me what was happening. Then one day, He said. I want to tell you what's going on, after the withdrawal ,he put himself on Suboxone. From that day forward. We worked together to get him the help he needed! When he went to outpatient treatment they tested his blood. He had 1000ml of FENTANYL per 1 ml of blood. They said he should be DEAD. Gayle, it is no relection on us as parents. These kids take 1 pill they can die. But. Sadly I feel the truth is not a one time thing and they get hooked. I hope this helps other Parents of kids on drugs, if you even think there is a problem, don't let up, keep asking questions use your intuition. Addicts don't tell the truth, they will lie. Exactly this. But you see her father says he has some history so I feel like this is the environment she grew up in. When we were growing up we were thinking about school and college and activities we didn’t have time to ruminate by ourselves and look for drugs nor would we ever think of doing that. Nobody in my friend group even ever tried drugs we were just too busy trying to get into good colleges. I feel like these are lost wayward kids who don’t have goals or purpose and don’t have parents supervising them. my parents and those of my friends watched us like hawks knew every move we make and none of us ever got into trouble or drugs. Nowadays if you suggest that online you get 1000 millennial parents saying they’ll resent you and do it anyway. No, we did not resent our parents, and no ….we didn’t do it anyway.

I went to rehab in 2019 right around the time fentanyl started popping up in everything. I remember multiple people i know dying from fentanyl laced cocaine (cocaine being my drug of choice) it still wasn’t enough to scare me. True addicts always have the mindset it can never happen to them. I’m extremely happy i finally hit my bottom and sought help. Ive been clean and sober since. I couldn’t imagine being a teen and experimenting nowadays. My heart is with any families who’ve been affected by this epidemic. My heart also goes out to all the still sick and suffering alcoholics and addicts. If you’re someone who’s struggling i promise you there is a way out you just need to reach out for help and take recommendations from people who’ve been there.

You know, nothing to do with her actually because we must not make assumptions about why she uses. We don’t know her story, but I think, not Sofia, because don’t know her personally , but many others who use anything really do so to drown loneliness. It’s done in Europe, it’s done in the us, it’s done all over the world, because the age of social media has created different types of ways of shaming others. Back in the days, you could earn back honor by moving to a place they don’t know ya yet or by winning a fight, catching a giant fish, riding a horse, throwing knife’s, five finger filet, winning a dual. These things are obviously now a no go, so people get excommunicated by their friends and end up lonely for almost ever, nothing they can do about it because social media is a B, and everyone now knows you as “lame.” For me that would be a good reason to down an entire bottle of Smirnoff 100 to try and drown in loniness. For everyone, death is better than loniness. Sometimes I am lonely, so I base this offf my story. Please people, how difficult is it to get friends and to talk to the person I am in love with. (I’m not an alcoholic, I’m sober and hot when I am with her) I am afraid of rejection ✍🏻 another one. Rejection and fear also may make people use substances. There ya go. Some possible explanations for some people’s substance behavior, not Sofia I think, or rather, don’t know, can’t tell, not allowed to and won’t. Just my experience if that helps you get a better view.

The hard part about it all is trying to help someone overcome their drug addiction sacrificing yourself, your mental state, your well being for someone special to you who is not ready to seek help can be very heart breaking. It is not your fault to take care of another adult who has a problem with addiction. Forcing someone to seek treatment never helps in the long run and just creates a disfuncional relationship. I really hope she stays clean and I’m so happy the father is doing his best to educate people on the matter. I lost my best friend this way and just like the father I didn’t know. My friend thought she was buying OxyContin but what they gave her had fentanyl. I always would read the billboards and posters and knew it was lethal. I just never could imagine it would hit so close to home.

My wife died in 2020 from a fentanyl overdose. I too was a drug attic for 15 yrs but I've been clean and sober now for 3 years . JESUS SAVED MY LIFE. I couldn't of beat this addiction with out the Power of the Holy spirit. Call upon the name Jesus and he will help you I promise. Much love ❤

God bless you Michael... I'm so sorry about your wife. It breaks my heart to hear all these stories. I suffer from depression and anxiety but I'm fearful of drugs. I do believe Jesus helps me get through each day. I've prayed endlessly to be healed of this struggle but it's not in God's will. I've experienced so much trauma in my life and I know it took it's toll on me. I'm so sure that is why so many take these drugs.. to numb the pain of life. People with tender hearts feel so deeply. The only thing that keeps me hanging on is I truly think we are living in the last days. .if Jesus doesn't come back soon I can't imagine how this world will go on. Sending you love. 🕊️

THE GOSPEL CHRIST died for the sin of the world. He is risen to life for our justification. CHRIST died so that we might die to sin, that we may live in righteousness and holiness. all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD. all alike are deserving of His wrath, but in GOD's great love, He sent His only begotten SON, JESUS CHRIST, the LAMB OF GOD, Who takes away the SIN OF THE WORLD. JESUS CHRIST is LORD. He saved me and He can also save you, that you may live for and with Him for all of eternity in perfect peace, love, and joy.

UR STANDARDS ARE TOO LOW. U FIND IDIOTIC DECISIONS AMAZING? I HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR IDIOTS LIKE THESE. WITHOUT THEM IN THIS WORLD .... THINGS WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER
@krisrobb7709 Жыл бұрын
@@paralumandiwata6629 Wow. So just first thing, it's really not necessary to yell (type in all caps) at everyone. Perhaps secondly, it's worth noting that many of us don't see anything at all problematic with a father trying to connect with & help his teenage daughter in an effort to get back on the right track. Your worldview is.... sketchy and sad.

This honestly makes me emotional, having experienced family members overdosing from fentanyl is heartbreaking. You can only imagine what the dad was going through when he realized his daughter took that. He probably still worries to this day hoping she doesn’t, really isn’t a good feeling.

I always share videos like this to my teens. They both got a share in their messages with a "Watch this so you can be informed". I feel like the more they see on how dangerous things like this are the better decisions they make. So far I've been lucky they've been 10x better behaved than I ever was as a teen.

i gotta be honest im not saying don't trust your kids but at the end of the day, at least for me, there was very little my parents could do to stop anything i wanted to do. your children's peers influence them 10000x more than you do, just hope that they chose good people to be around, that's what saved me.

This is so scary and hits home with me hard because I myself use to be addicted to pain meds. From 2004-2009 my life was a mess and I knew I had to do something or I was going to lose everything including my life. This was way back before snap chat and emojis and before we had meth, heroin and fentanyl around southeast Kentucky. I am beyond blessed I got my life back on track and away from this stuff. I’ll be celebrating my 13yrs clean and sober and anyone out there dealing with addiction I’ll always be a friend to you in hopes to show you that you too can beat addiction. ❤️
